Ashes of the Singularity
A science-fiction RTS developed by Stardock Systems, the developer team known for Galactic Civilizations. The game is set in a distant future, when humans developed a highly advanced AI, leading to a period of unrestrained technological advancement. All humans abandoned their former bodies and transferred their consciousness into electronic systems. However, humans did not eliminate their worst instincts. Fueled by greed, they started a war with machines for a valuable substance called computronium. Gameplay mechanics is based on the typical RTS formula. While playing you gather resources, capture power stations to expand your base and army, and conduct technological research. Large-scale battles are fought across the surface of entire planets. In order to simplify unit management, you can create so-called meta-units, which are easier to control on the battlefield.
Half-Life 2: Episode Three
The third expansion for Half-life 2, sequel to one of the most acclaimed first-person shooters, developed by Valve and released in 2004. Initially, Half-Life 2: Episode Three was supposed to be issued directly after the previous two episodes, released in years 2006 and 2007, but the project was canceled for unknown reasons. Story-wise, it was to be a continuation of the events presented by its predecessors and to bring a closure to many unresolved plots from the entire trilogy (e.g. events concerning the legendary Borealis ship and the technology found therein, all of which were to be destroyed by Gordon Freeman, the main protagonist). At the end of Episode Two, Freeman and his companion, Alyx, fly to Antarctica to find out what happened in the base located therein and why was it attacked by the Combine. Episode Three was supposed to provide explanations.
An FPS created by Polish developer The Farm 51, mainly known for the NecrovisioN franchise and the latest installment in the Painkiller series. The game tells a story of a man whose profession involves tying up loose ends for governments and influential persons. The protagonist’s situation complicates when one of his potential victims decides to fight back. The story is presented from the twin perspectives of the two rivaling characters. As you play, you learn the story through exploration and interaction with the environment. Get Even stands out with its innovative graphics based on 3D scans of real-life locations, making it almost literally photorealistic. Additionally, the game features an interesting combination of single and multiplayer gameplay – at any moment another player can join the fight taking the role of characters normally controlled by AI.
Cube World is a sandbox action-RPG game created by an indie developer Picroma. This game is inspired by such titles as the cult Minecraft and franchises like Legend of Zelda and Monster Hunter. Gameplay is based on exploration, questing, and environment shaping. In this voxel-based world you can erect and destroy buildings as well as craft useful items. The developers recreated around a dozen of licensed coaches – not only in terms of their appearance, but also things like the sound effects produced by different engines. In terms of visuals, the game is powered by the well-proven engine employed in Euro Truck Simulator 2, and features some new models created solely for this production. Faced with another invasion of the Burning Legion, the already weakened Azeroth needs to rely on the players for help. Their task will be to stop Gul’dan before the forces of evil can triumph. The most crucial novelties introduced in the expansion are: the Order Hall, unique to your character class, where you gather an army of NPC followers, as well as artifacts, which come as rewards for completing a series of dangerous missions. Additionally, the game introduces some changes to the progression system (introduction of ranks), along with raising experience level cap to 110. Of course there are also new dungeons and raids.

Subsequent parts of this long-standing series concentrate on a battle the humanity wages against a deadly virus which transforms those it infects into bloodthirsty monsters. The players accompany several characters who appeared in various installments of Resident Evil over the years as well as in many side installments. The game, being faithful to tradition, shows the action in third person perspective and the gameplay is based on exploration, fighting enemies and solving occasional logical puzzles. The game has a horror atmosphere which, across subsequent installments in the series, was gradually reduced in favor of action elements. Resident Evil 7 combines the best aspects of the old and new installments and is the first main Resident Evil game created for the eight generation consoles.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Another installment in an RPG series based on the Comedy Central’ cult adult-oriented cartoon TV series. The title is a direct sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth released in 2014. However, unlike that game, this one was created by an Ubisoft’s subsidiary. Once again you play as the New Kid, whose family just recently moved in to South Park. This tim, Cartman and his group play the roles of superheroes, making up the vigilante group of Coon & Friends. They have to face a new danger, the villainous Professor Chaos. In terms of gameplay mechanics, the game is similar to its predecessor, combining classic RPG elements with turn-based combat, further spiced up with a big doze of nasty humor invented by the creators of the TV series: Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
A fan modification of the classic first-person shooter Half-Life from 1998; the mod's development took roughly 8 years to complete. In terms of plot, the production is a faithful recreation of the original game and tells the story of Gordon Freeman, a physicist, and his struggle for survival in the titular Black Mesa Research Facility invaded by mysterious beings from another dimension. The implemented changes relate primarily to the audio-visual aspects, which were developed entirely from scratch, using the original locations, 3D models, and sound effects as a model. The game is powered by the popular Source engine, which created for the cult Half-Life 2, enabling it – in comparison with the original GoldSrc engine – to fully employ the capabilities of modern graphics cards and multi-core processors. This allows us to enjoy high-quality visuals, improved physics and character animations, and a host of advanced visual effects. An entirely new soundtrack, composed by Joel Nielsen, was also made for the game.

Developed by Polyphony Digital in cooperation with the FIA organization, Gran Turismo Sport focuses on the titular motor sports, having the player compete for the most prestigious cups and titles just like real race drivers do. The gameplay mechanics corresponds with previous games in the series, letting you climb up the ladder of a professional driving career and drive a whole range of licensed sport cars, dedicated racing or concept cars. The competition has a different form here, as individual players represent their home countries or favorite car manufacturers. The game features more realistic driving model, as well as noticeably better graphics. It also supports the PlayStation VR headset.

Strategy game set in science-fiction world in which we manage an extraterrestrial colony. It has been developed by debuting independent studio Ludeon, established by a former employee of Irrational Games, who worked on Bioshock series. The story of RimWorld takes place in the future, in which humanity colonized many alien systems, but they are so far from each other that their inhabitants cannot count on anyone, but themselves. We take command over a small group of survivors of colonial space ship, with our task being maintaining development and safety of base. Aside from building structures, gathering food and resources we must assign each colonist with a task adequate to his or her skills. RimWorld differs from other games with complex tactical fight system and three independent artificial intelligence mechanics, which – depending on the situation – will generate random story arcs, making sure to maintain a proper drama of gameplay.
A tactical shooter released as a sequel to one of the most popular Battlefield 2 modifications - Project Reality. The game was developed as a commercial version of that mod; however, only part of the original team worked on it. Nevertheless, Squad stayed true to the original concept, focusing mainly on online gameplay, and was designed to be something between an action-packed first-person shooter and a hardcore military simulation. Gameplay is focused on battles of two rivaling teams of players, representing different hostile factions (e.g. the USA and terrorists), with proper teamwork being the key to success. Players can use accurately recreated weapons and vehicles, but also modify battlefields by building all sorts of defensive structures. The game’s landmark feature is its high degree of realism and lack of many modern simplifications.

1953: NATO vs Warsaw Pact
Strategy 15 March 2016
A classic turn-based strategy game created by Wastelands Interactive, a Polish development studio. It tells of a fictional conflict between NATO and the no-longer-existing Warsaw Pact. 1953: NATO vs Warsaw Pact takes us to the 50s, when Russian warmongering factions decided to take advantage of the state’s destabilization after the death of Joseph Stalin and wage war against the “corrupt West”. The action takes place in Europe and we assume control of land, air, and naval armies of the chosen side, although we might as well lead a custom coalition comprised of any number of nations from the list of more than 30 countries available. The game's indisputable advantage is the faithful recreation of the military and political potential of individual countries as well as a number of historical events from the period that have their in-game counterparts.
