Detroit: Become Human
An action-adventure game set in a science-fiction world, created by developers from the French studio Quantum Dreams – creators of such games as Fahrenheit, Beyond: Two Souls and the bestselling Heavy Rain. Detroit: Become Human expands on ideas present in the 2012 year’s demo Kara, which depicted a female android developing human emotions. The game takes place in the futuristic version of Detroit, where humanoid robots are a common sight. But the main protagonist – the android Kara – is special, as she is the only one possessing real human feelings. Those emotions are what drives her to learn more about herself and other robots, and if it’s possible – to shape her own future. With the help of players, of course.
Strategy August 2017
A refreshed version of the bestselling RTS game, which came out in 1998. Both the versions were developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Compared to the original release, the game (enriched with the Brood War expansion) introduces significantly improved audiovisuals above all. Although the visuals remain two-dimensional, all the graphical elements have become richer in detail. Furthermore, the game supports high resolution settings (also, 4K), as well as refreshed audio, which also applies to dialogues between characters. Changes were introduced to the game's online component as well, thus StarCraft: Remastered offers an advanced system of matchmaking, an ability to store one's save files in the cloud, quick button re-mapping, and easy access to fan-made maps and replays. The mechanics remain unchanged - it is still a traditional RTS game, which features three playable races (the Terrans representing humanity, the Protoss, and the Zerg). The experience is based on gathering resources, building one's base, conducting research, producing units, and fighting enemies - in combat, taking advantage of both the enemy's weak spots and the strong spots of the player's forces, constitutes the key to success. Apart from six story campaigns (two for each of the races), the game offers an extensive multiplayer component comprised of different game modes.
A sequel to one of the most popular Korean MMORPG games. MU2 is a title produced and published by Webzen Inc. The game is set on the mythic continent of Mu which, according to the theories of James Churchward, was inhabited by the ancient civilization of Naacal. Players assume the roles of heroes seeking fortune, adventures, and some monsters to hunt for in this legendary realm. Gameplay in MU2 focuses on dynamic combat resembling typical hack-and-slash mechanics. As an MMO, the game offers extensive social features, letting you communicate with friends, form teams, and create clans. High quality visuals in MU2 are powered by the popular Unreal Engine 3.
A sandbox game by System Era Softworks. Astroneer is set in the 25th century, when the civilization on Earth has developed enough for interstellar travel to become an everyday occurrence. It resulted in a certain kind of gold fever — people started to explore other planets on their own, driven by the desire of getting rich quick. The open world of the game is procedurally generated, and the surfaces of planets and moons are made of voxels. You play as an astronaut equipped with tools allowing them to dig holes in order to find resources and artifacts, which can be then sold or used to create new items thanks to an expansive crafting system. The system allows not only to make and modify useful equipment and vehicles, but also to build bases. The planets featured in the game vary in terms of gravity, resources, and possible dangers. The game features both a single player mode and a multiplayer mode.
A multiplayer-focused joke arcade game created by Boneloaf, an indie studio from the Great Britain. More precisely, this is an unusual brawler, in which character physics plays a key role. You control colorful little men whose animations are procedurally generated as you play. The gameplay focuses on melee combat, including punching, kicking, throwing your opponents off ledges or pushing them into traps. The game offers several diverse locations, where you can hurt enemies using elements of environment, such as scaffolds, or running trucks, to add to the base moveset. The game’s visuals are minimalistic – the environments comprise of simple, untextured geometric shapes featuring little to no detail. The game offers several modes of local and online competitive multiplayer (solo or in a team). You can also compete against AI or play in the sandbox mode.
A realistic survival game created by a debuting Australian studio Beam Team Games. The player assumes the role of a plane crash survivor who struggles to remain alive on one of the uninhabited islands of the Pacific. Unlike most games of this genre, this production is focused not only on the exploration of the island itself, but it also encompasses the ocean floor around it. Both areas are randomly generated before each game. The life of our hero can be endangered by various threats: hunger, thirst, heat during the day, or a sudden drop in temperature at night. An encounter with a shark or sailing into the open sea during a storm may also prove deadly. Additionally, the game features an intuitive crafting system, which allows the player to create simple tools as well as more advanced structures such as a raft or a makeshift hut. High quality graphic design, featuring dynamic weather and a night-and-day cycle, stands out in comparison to other games of this popular genre.
An action adventure game to be available on PlayStation 4 and later on also PC. The title was designed by the industry legend and co-creator of the Metal Gear series, Hideo Kojima. The story of Death Stranding focuses on the evolution of human race and on the “connection” motive which redefines the role of failure and death in videogames. American actor Norman Reedus who is well known for his role in The Walking Dead TV series plays the role of the main protagonist of the title. Reedus previously worked with Kojima on the canceled survival horror Silent Hills. The gameplay mechanics of Death Stranding combine features of action games, adventure games and RPGs. However, the developers have ambition to move beyond the traditional understanding of these genres and create a completely new quality which will combine the traits of traditional video game with symbolism and new ways for experiencing the story and fates of the characters.

RPG 18 May 2017
A turn-based RPG focusing strongly on strategic aspects and created by Pixelated Milk - a Polish developer. Once the protagonist arrives in the place, it turns out that the entire land is ruined and the family was charged with a large debt. Kay decides to restore the ruined city to its magnificent state and take back the neighboring areas from the wildlife occupying them. The player's tasks are to construct buildings, gather resources, develop technologies and manage the land appropriately, so it can generate adequate amounts of money. The protagonist can be accompanied by four other characters with unique abilities, which can be developed alongside progression.
On The Road
A tactical shooter released as a sequel to one of the most popular Battlefield 2 modifications - Project Reality. The game was developed as a commercial version of that mod; however, only part of the original team worked on it. Nevertheless, Squad stayed true to the original concept, focusing mainly on online gameplay, and was designed to be something between an action-packed first-person shooter and a hardcore military simulation. Gameplay is focused on battles of two rivaling teams of players, representing different hostile factions (e.g. the USA and terrorists), with proper teamwork being the key to success. Players can use accurately recreated weapons and vehicles, but also modify battlefields by building all sorts of defensive structures. The game’s landmark feature is its high degree of realism and lack of many modern simplifications.
A free-to-play real-time strategy game by Wildfire Games, a studio founded by developers and gamers who work for free in their spare time. Initially, the title was supposed to be a mod for Age of Empires II but eventually it was ported to a new engine and made available as a standalone production. The main goal of its creators was to present the most important civilizations that existed on Earth between the 5th century BC to the 5th century AD. In 0 A.D., we take part in a completely fictional conflict, although the game stays faithful to history in terms of weapons, buildings, and so on. The gameplay involves controlling a nation of our choosing and developing it throughout centuries. The player has to erect buildings, produce food, and acquire resources necessary for expansion. Apart from these, we also have to prepare for potential wars by recruiting soldiers that will repel enemy invasions or conquer nearby settlements or cities.
Crash Bandicoot HD
Developed by Vicarious Visions studio from the USA, a remake of the first installment of the Crash Bandicoot franchise. Compared to the original production, this title features brand new graphics along with a fresh soundtrack. Even though there are a few minor improvements in mechanics, the backbone of the game stays the same. Once again, you play as a bandicoot named Crash, whose objective is to stop doctor Neo Cortex from raising an army of obedient, humanoid animals. Crash Bandicoot HD is a classic 3D platform game, so gameplay consists in going through diverse locations, avoiding numerous traps, and fighting enemies by hitting them with the spin attack or by jumping on their heads. Once you run out of a limited number of lives, you'll have to start a level all over again. However, the title features a system of checkpoints, diverse secrets, and power-ups granting temporary bonuses.

We Happy Few
Adventure 20 June 2017
An unordinary action-adventure game which uses the style and tune of the 60s. The title was created by an independent studio Compulsion Games known for creating Contrast, a title that used similar style. In the game, the player travels to a fictional town in which, due to indoctrination and a wonderful drug, the citizens are constantly happy and all traits of dissatisfaction are immediately eliminated. The protagonist is one of the defiant citizens who are resistant to the system. In order to survive in the surrounding world, he must observe it thoroughly and understand its rules. The action is shown from first-person perspective and the gameplay is focused on exploration, and gathering various items and using them. While doing it, players must behave according to the social norms so that other citizens don’t become suspicious. The world of the game was characteristically exaggerated, but the game tells about many very important topics.
Pure Farming 17: The Simulator
An advanced farming simulator developed by Techland in cooperation with the independent studio Ice Flames. Similarly as in other games in the genre, in Pure Farming 17: The Simulator the player assumes the role of a farmer who must maintain his farm. The task requires him to perform various field activities like planting and watering seeds, gathering crops and selling them. Funds obtained in that way can be used for improving the farm and buying new vehicles and farming machines. The game offers many innovative solutions and mechanics that were previously unavailable in other games in the genre.
Fantasy sandbox role-playing game, being a debut project from AAD Productions studio. Developers wanted to combine the mechanics of classic RPG titles (like The Elder Scrolls series) with survival aspects and free world exploration, typical of modern MMO productions. The game is played in first-person perspective, and the gameplay is focused on exploring subsequent locations by ourselves, instead on completing consecutive story quests. During the game we have to take care of the food supply. We can do so by collecting plants or taking advantage of an extensive hunting model, which allows us not only to hunt, but also to set traps. Thanks to the crafting system, most of the necessary tools we can make ourselves, using found materials and items. Character development differs from traditional patterns – rather than distributing experience points, we gain proficiency in an activity by using it often enough.
Mirage: Arcane Warfare
Action 23 May 2017
The second major production by Torn Banner studio from Canada – the creators of the warmly received hack-n-slash multiplayer game, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. Mirage: Arcane Warfare utilizes many elements of the previous installment in the series. The gameplay mainly revolves around close combat battles with the use of a wide arsenal of melee weapons. What differentiates the two games is the fact that Mirage: Arcane Warfare is set in a fantasy world, thus offering, apart from traditional methods of fighting, a broad range of magic powers as well. The game utilizes high-quality visuals powered by Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4 technology.
Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court
RPG June 2017
The first expansion for the 2016 dungeon crawler RPG Darkest Dungeon by Red Hook Studios. The add-on utilizes the gameplay mechanics from the core game — you complete a team of heroes and set out to explore the eponymous Darkest Dungeon. Your goal is to find enormous riches, with which you can expand a shabby hamlet, also serving as your base. Like in the original Darkest Dungeon game, the characters of The Crimson Court suffer from typical human ailments — some of them may go berserk, while others may panic when surrounded by darkness. The game places a strong focus on blood, which is a theme connecting the items you find and your enemies. The expansion also marks the first appearance of vampires, creatures with a unique set of characteristics and abilities.
The Black Death
Set in Medieval Europe, a MMORPG born from cooperation between two small independent studios: Syrin and Small Impact Games. The Black Death is a survival simulator in which you have to stay alive during the epidemic outbreak called “The Black Death.” Apart from surviving the plague, the player also needs to face problems usual for the people of that time and place. Gameplay takes place in an open world inspired by Western Europe’s landscapes and its area amounts to 8,000 sq m. At the beginning, you choose one of the eight available professions (a farmer, a knight, etc.), which determines the nature of gameplay. Apart from completing quests, you need to satisfy the basic needs of your avatar and avoid contact with the infected. In the course of the game many times you will fight with the use of an extensive and difficult combat system that enables to land precise strikes and parry attacks.
A multiplayer-focused first-person shooter set during the World War 2, developed by British Bulkhead Interactive studio. The maps on which we play are inspired by real battlefields of the Great War, like the streets of Carentan or the forests near Bastogne. We play as an infantry soldier and take part in dynamic, purely arcade battles – though not without a good dose of realism, visible in e.g. faithfully recreated weapons. The game emphasizes players skills and lacks a character progression system typically present in other online titles, with our only reward for winning being only cosmetic additions. Battalion 1944 offers many classic game modes, like deathmatch, capture the flag, and their team variants.
Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days
Action 18 May 2017
An online survival action game developed by Gamepires and Croteam, the creators of Serious Sam. The action of SCUM takes place in an alternative reality, where humanity, desiring intense experiences, watches a brutal TV show in which prisoners fight among themselves for life and the favor of the sponsors and fans. The competition, being one season of the program, takes place on Bagne de Cayenne, a grand island. The only task of the player is to survive. Knowledge and skills prove particularly helpful in that. While playing, you have to make sure you have enough food, perfect your weapon skills, martial arts, and hacking skills. Additional highlight of the unusual tournament includes numerous sponsors and producers of the program. If we manage to ingratiate ourselves with them, we can count on unique and incredibly valuable gifts that will make staying alive much easier.
Rising Storm 2: Vietnam
Developed by Tripware Interactive in cooperation with Antimatter Games, an FPS which is a continuation to Rising Storm. As the title suggests, the action takes place in Vietnam, where you assume the roles of American or Vietnamese soldiers. The mechanics do not differ considerably from those in the previous installment and once again emphasize realism. Due to the different historical period and realities of the conflict presented, the game now features choppers, booby-traps, and machine guns. Soldiers of each fraction differ not only in fighting style, but also in equipment. The creators provided new unit system that allows for bigger control over the player's squad. Rising Storm 2: Vietnam introduces multiplayer for up to 64 players.
