SNOW (2016)
SNOW (2016)

Sports TBA

An open world sports simulator developed by Poppermost Productions - an independent Swedish team. SNOW, as simple as it sounds, focuses on skiing and snowboarding. Although the game was inspired by console series such as SSX, special emphasis was put on realism. The action takes place near Sialia mountain in the Alps, a place filled with ski slopes, hidden valleys and mountain villages. The players can compete against both the AI-controlled opponents and other players in the multiplayer mode. The gameplay is diversified with many character customization options and different kinds of equipment to choose from. The game utilizes CryEngine 3, thus the in-game locations present themselves more than satisfying and movement physics stand out with realism. The game is free-to-play with optional micro-payments.

MLB: The Show 17
MLB: The Show 17

Sports Tuesday, 28 March 2017

The twelfth entry in the popular baseball simulator series developed for PlayStation consoles by SIE San Diego. Similarly to the previous installments, MLB: The Show 17 uses the Major League Baseball license which includes numerous professional baseball teams from both USA and Canada, along with their rosters. As always, we are dealing with an extensive baseball simulator with numerous managerial features. The game offers a wide range of game modes, from single matches up to whole seasons. The campaign sees us lead the chosen team, not only during the games, but also deciding upon the choice of players, their training, and transfers. Similarly to the previous years, the player database is updated on-the-fly through a continuous connection with MLB 2017/2018 season servers. The biggest novelty of MLB: The Show 17 is the Retro mode, introducing a gameplay inspired by baseball titles from 8 and 16 bit consoles. Moreover, we are left with a number of multiplayer modes.

The Golf Club 2
The Golf Club 2

Sports August 2017

A continuation of a warmly-welcomed golf simulator from 2014. The basic mechanics seen in the previous installment haven’t been changed – we've received a complex sandbox golfing simulator that enables us to create our own player and take part in numerous matches and golf tournaments. The authors introduced numerous fixes and improvements, including realistic club control and more personalization options. Aside from an extensive career mode, The Golf Club 2 offers single matches and multiple multiplayer modes. The multiplayer itself is influenced by its online community – the players can establish golfing clubs that can participate in tournaments, or even the whole series. The game contains an extensive golf course editor, allowing us to share our courses with other players. The new installment uses Unity 5 engine, meaning improved graphics, mainly regarding the character models and environment.

90 Minute Fever
90 Minute Fever

Sports 2017

A MMO football manager that is the debut title from studio Isokron. In contrast to typical games of the genre, such as Football Manager, the game focuses only on duels between the players. The game allows one to create its own club from scratch and then to lead it to conquer the football world by deciding the team's roster and tactics, and managing all the key aspects of the club's activities. The game focuses on interactions between players, both directly, by playing matches, and indirectly, by influencing economy. One of the interesting features is the Time Portal system that allows us to bring real players from the past to join the team. In contrast to other online managers, 90 Minute Fever doesn’t require one to slowly climb the career ladder. From the very beginning it allows experienced players to challenge themselves in other modes. The game lacks any pay-to-win features, but playing requires a monthly subscription.

Snooker Nation Championship
Snooker Nation Championship

Sports 2018

A snooker simulator from Cherry Pop Games, an independent studio, known for Pool Nation, and it’s reedition, Pool Nation FX. When it comes to mechanics, Snooker Nation Championship doesn’t differ much from its predecessor. For the players unaccustomed to the game itself, an accessible tutorial has been prepared, introducing the gamers to basic controls, for example, placing the balls, or applying necessary rotation. Playing solo, we can compete with AI in championships, which are comprised of elimination bout and 5 rounds of the main tournament. In multiplayer modes, we can face other players in a local mode, or take part in ranked online matches. In case of the multiplayer modes, the game allows us to set some basic parameters of the game. The players can also customize their equipment, including cues and balls. Snooker Nation Championship incorporates three-dimensional visuals and realistic physics, making the balls act exactly the same as if on a real pool table.

FIFA Soccer: Prime Stars
FIFA Soccer: Prime Stars

Sports TBA

A soccer management game with RPG elements developed for mobile devices, and a spin-off of the popular FIFA series by Electronic Arts. FIFA Soccer: Prime Stars is a typical management game, whose mechanics have been greatly simplified, and the gameplay consists mostly of gathering and developing your team members. After recruiting the soccer players, you have to lead them through training sessions, which helps them develop their abilities and level up. The next step is planning out the strategies for the matches, which you can see thanks to a realistic 3D engine. Despite the low-budget feel and a typical free-to-play model, the game boasts official licenses by five leading European leagues, which means it includes real teams and team members of the 2015-2016 season.
