The game's development was partially funded by a grant from the Danish government. The story tells about a young boy who must stop the forces of evil that are trying to take over the world by experimenting on humans. The gameplay mechanics are similar to classic platformer games. They combine the necessity to solve various puzzles with tasks requiring reflexes and good manual skills. The game takes place in a dark universe where the rain never ceases to fall. The visuals of the game are similar to the ones used in the previous bestselling game developed by PlayDead studio. However, this time the world is three-dimensional. The colors in the game are toned down and the music is atmospheric. The game was created by using the popular, multi-platform Unity engine.

Bound
Bound

Arcade 16 August 2016

An experimental, three-dimensional platformer offering an abstract, alluring game world. Bound is the third project developed by Plastic - a Polish team popular for a dark adventure game Datura and an artistic logic game Linger in Shadows. Similar to these titles, Bound was created exclusively for PlayStation 4 and it was developed in cooperation with Sony Santa Monica (the God of War series). Although the game is hard to classify, calling it simply a three-dimensional platformer is a relatively accurate description. Special emphasis was placed on puzzle solving, which is done together with other players. When creating the game world, the developers were inspired by works of abstract art from the beginning of the twentieth century - the player observes lively colors contrasting with one another, as well as simple blocks the virtual environments are made of. Additionally, certain elements of the in-game world are generated procedurally. Motion-capture techniques with the participation of Maria Udod (a professional, Russian dancer) were used in creation of character animations for the game.

HoPiKo
HoPiKo

Arcade 24 September 2015

A dynamic speed-run platformer game which delivers the player with a high-difficulty challenge. HoPiKo was developed by Laser Dog Games - the creators of the space runner Alone... and an arcade-logic game PUK. The mobile version of the game can be purchased as a Premium application. The game is set in an alternative, near-future reality, where development of virtual entertainment gets squashed by a virus known as Nanobyte. The titular character is the only hope the desperate players have - he engages into direct combat against the digital enemy. In HoPiKo, the player is required to jump across the platforms and avoid obstacles located in-between of them. The route to the target has to be planned carefully, as platforms are often oddly positioned, which makes it unable to perform certain actions. As a result, the player re-approaches particular levels many times, learning the correct movement sequences by heart. A retro art style was applied to both the game's 2D graphics and its 8-bit soundtrack, but the game uses many modern-day visual effects at the same time.

Super Mario Run
Super Mario Run

Arcade 15 December 2016

A mobile installment of the famous platform game franchise by Nintendo, and a typical autorunner production for portable devices. You play, of course, as the eponymous plumber, who constantly moves to the right side of the screen, and your task is to avoid obstacles while eliminating enemies and gathering special golden coins. There are two game modes in Super Mario Run. In the first one, you only have to complete the levels, in the other you compete against the other players, trying to get a better result. What matters here is not only completing the level, but also your method of achieving that. You can also create your kingdom, which is what you use the coins you gather for. The game features the visual style known from the fist installments of the series, although the graphics have been enhanced so that they would not seem old-fashioned by current 2D platform game standards.

Limbo
Limbo

Arcade 21 July 2010

Very unique two-dimensional platformer from the independent developer PlayDead. We play as a small boy who sets on dangerous journey to save his sister. He traverses surrealistic landscapes, coming across many deadly traps and running away from monstrous spider, which follow him tirelessly. In terms of gameplay, Limbo borrows from classic platform titles, though not without adding a few original features. The games revolves around advanced physics, which plays crucial role in most puzzles and arcade sequences, during which the players must display quick reflexes. What stands out the most, however, is Limbo’s unique, mysterious and grim atmosphere, mainly coming from its audiovisuals. Sparse use of sound and graphics, consisting only of shades of black and white, makes it look like a work of a movie expressionist from the beginning of 20th century.

Goat Simulator

Arcade 01 April 2014

Goat Simulator is a humorous simulator that serves as a commercial extension of the joke game made by Swedish Coffee Stain (known primarily from the Sanctum series). The game lets you control a crazy goat named Pilgor which destroys everything in the virtual world. The goal is to cause as much damage as possible with the use of a wide range of absurd accessories, like rockets, explosives, etc. It was the developers’ ambition to create a big cliché parody, mocking low-budget simulators. Therefore, Goat Simulator features loads of purposely implemented humorous bugs. The editor gives you a chance to create your own levels and share them with others through the Internet. On the technical side, the game utilizes the power of Unreal Engine 3.

The developers included the whole base game and its two DLCs, and introduced a number of novelties. A local co-op mode has been incorporated in the game, allowing two players to take part in a joint playthrough on one screen.
