Strategy 08 April 2015
A browser MMO strategy game from the creators of Tribal Wars. In Elvenar the player joins one of two sides of conflict: humans or elves, and strives to build a prospering metropolis. Each of the two races uses different technologies and offers unique architecture, units, and a bit different gameplay philosophy. For example, elves live in harmony with nature, practice magic and coexist with other fantasy creatures, whereas humans are more of ambitious engineers, who use medieval weapons and technology. The foundation of gameplay is to provide your settlement with wealth and security as well as transform it into a big metropolis. To this end you have to produce food and collect resources, expand buildings, and recruit a strong army that would fight your battles and allow you to explore new territories. In Elvenar you can focus on story-based campaign missions or interact with other players: establish alliances, trade or wage wars with them. Battles are fought in a turn-based system on hexagonal fields. Elvenar stands out from similar games with impressive 3D visuals and high-quality graphics.
Might & Magic: Heroes Online (WWW)
Strategy 30 September 2014
Might & Magic: Heroes Online is a browser game and a part of the highly popular strategic game franchise created in 1995 by Jon van Caneghem and New World Computing. The game was developed by Blue Byte Software, creators of The Settlers saga, responsible for the browser versions of various popular games (i.e. The Settlers, Anno, or Silent Hunter). In terms of the plot, Heroes Online continues the story from the last two big games of the series. In the fantasy world of Ashan, two opposing factions fight for power. Each of them has an army made of skilled warriors of different races and classes. There are two basic aspects to the gameplay: real time world exploration, where we also gather resources and recruit our army, and the turn-based tactical battles that take place on hexagonal battlefields. Unlike the other browser games, Might & Magic: Heroes Online's visuals are on rather high level, and not far behind what can be seen in the series' main games.
Total War Battles: Kingdom (WWW)
Strategy 22 September 2016
The second installment in a spin-off subseries belonging to the Total War franchise, designed mainly for mobile devices. Both titles were created by a separate development team working under Creative Assembly. In contrast to the original game, this one focuses entirely on online gameplay and PvP competition. The game takes you back to 10th century. You become a leader of a small country, who has to take care of its development and security. Your goal is to conquer new lands and turn them into bustling, productive terrains. The game offers expanded strategic gameplay, allowing you to not only construct buildings, gather resources, and expand your army, but also use diplomacy, spies, and intrigues against your allies and foes alike. In terms of visuals, unlike the previous edition, this one looks more akin to a full-fledged Total War game.
Panzer General Online (WWW)
An online strategy game which is a browser-based version of the cult Panzer General series. It was developed by Blue Byte Software. The action takes place during World War II although the production's approach to the subject is far from realistic. In Panzer General Online, we participate in turn-based battles that, even though inspired by historical ones, are quite loosely based on actual events. The game offers both a single player campaign and a multiplayer mode. Combat is turn-based, which is characteristic of the series, and apart from infantry, we can command armored forces, air force, and many other units. The title is enriched with elements of collectible card games — while playing, the players have to collect cards that symbolize units and construct their own decks that are then used in subsequent battles.
Star Trek: Alien Domain (WWW)
Another browser MMO game adaptation of the cult Star Trek TV series universe. The title was based on the newest canon of the series, although it features a completely new story. The plot takes place in a mysterious region of the universe called Fluidic Space, where the members of United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire again fight for influence. The players choose one of the factions and establish colonies, gather resources, develop their fleets, and conduct research. Like a proper MMO game, Star Trek: Alien Domain features much combat between the players, including one-on-one skirmishes, raids on the enemy outposts, and great battles between the rivaling factions. In the game you may see many iconic ships from the series and movies, but you also have an option to build your own vessels.
