9.2 Game Score

A roguelike hack'n'slash game featuring pixel-art visuals. Crawl was designed specifically for local multiplayer and developed by the debuting team at Powerhoof. In the game, heroes exploring dungeons encounter monsters defending the place against undesired visitors. Up to four players can meet in a session - one of them assumes the role of the hero traversing dungeons filled with threats.

An action RPG and a spiritual successor to the bestselling Dark Souls series and its predecessor, Demon's Souls. The game was developed by their creator – Hidetaka Miyazaki – and his studio From Software. The plot takes us into a dark fantasy universe presented in a style reminiscent of the nineteenth-century Victorian era. Residents of a bleak metropolis called Yharnam are afflicted by a mysterious plague which turns people into ferocious beasts.

A special edition of the fifth installment in the popular RPG series by Bethesda, created for VR headgear and motion controllers. The plot of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR does not differ from that in the original version of the game. The story takes place in a fantasy world, which is threatened by dragons, led by Alduin. You play as the last Dovahkiin, a human that can speak dragon language, which makes them the only one capable of stopping the oncoming apocalypse.

The fifth entry in a popular jRPG series and a part of the Shin Megami Tensei series, started in 1987. As always, the developing studio is Atlus, which created the series. The plot of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 5 revolves around the theme of seven cardinal sins and puts us in the role of an ordinary high school student, who discovers supernatural powers in himself.

A computer RPG based on a tabletop roleplaying system called Numenera that combines elements of fantasy and science-fiction. The title was created by indie developer inXile entertainment, mostly known for the highly acclaimed remake of The Bard’s Tale and post-apocalyptic Wasteland 2. The game is a spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment - one of the classics of the genre, created by Black Isle Studio in 1999.

The Color of Madness is an expansion for a turn-based RPG Darkest Dungeon. DLC introduces a new type of adventure, in which the players face endless waves of enemies while trying to reach their objective, and a new faction. There are also more trinkets that weren’t seen before.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is the third part of a cRPG series, which started in 2009 with the debut of Dragon Age: Origins. Once again BioWare took on the development of the production in cooperation with Electronic Arts. The game is set in a fantasy world of Thedas, and the main theme of the plot is a demon invasion.

The first major expansion for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, an MMORPG developed and published by Square Enix. The expansion takes players on a journey to the city-state of Ishgard, where four aristocratic families fight for power. The add-on also allows players to explore various dungeons, floating islands and mysterious mountains beyond the borders of the known world.

A tactical RPG developed by the independent studio Witching Hour. The player is taken to a fantasy world where magic exists only in one city, Ombre. However, using it is dependent on possessing special masks, which is the direct reason for never-ending intrigues and political disputes. The main protagonist is inspector Cicero Gavara who is involved in a case of a mysterious disappearance.

Planescape Torment: Enhanced Edition is the remastered version of the classic cRPG game. It was created by Beamdog. Unlike the other remasters from the studio, Planescape Torment: Enhanced Edition has no new story elements. Instead, Beamdog focused on the technical aspects. Visuals were improved (on PC we can even play in 4K), just like the user's interface. Game's soundtrack was also remastered. Chris Avellone, designer of the original game, supervised some of the changes introduced by Beamdog.

A continuation to the well-received spin-off of the Dragon Quest series. The player again assumes the role of a hero gifted with the power of creation - their task will be to face the forces of darkness. Compared to its predecessor, the game introduces a series of changes, improvements and completely new concepts - above all, one can swim or glide in mid-air, fill cavities or player-made pools with water, and place three times more blocks on top of one another while constructing.

An action RPG and the third chapter of the adventures of a morally unambiguous monster slayer, Geralt of Rivia. As were the parts of the cycle, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s literary works, while not being a direct adaptation of any of his books. The story picks up after the events of the previous game and focuses on several plotlines, including Geralt’s lost love, invasion of the Nilfgaard Empire on the Northern Kingdoms, as well as the eponymous, spectral hunt.

The second expansion to action-RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt created by CD Projekt RED. This time we accompany Geralt during his stay in Touissant – one of few countries in The Witcher’s universe still untouched by war. However, under the veil of carefree idyll the city hides a dark, bloody secret. Investigating the mystery is another task for the White Wolf. Just like in the first expansion, new content does not end with new missions. The add-on also features new items, characters, and monsters.

Third-person perspective action game with RPG features and a sequel to the warmly-received production created by Cavia in 2010. The second installment was created by a different developer – Platinum Games known for the Bayonetta series. Despite that, Tarou Yokou, the creator of the first game, retained his position as the director of the project. The game takes place in distant future in which Earth was destroyed due to war against deadly machines.

A Japanese action role-playing game by Aquria, based on the popular Sword Art Online franchise, which started with a novel series by Reki Kawahara. The game is set in the near future in Japan, where virtual reality MMORPGs are wildly popular. The story of Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization takes place inside one of such games, called Sword Art: Origin, which gained popularity after a group of players was trapped in it.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is the eighth installment of the fantasy action RPG series from Nihon Falcom. The game takes place in the same Greek mythology-inspired fantasy world as the series' previous installments. Once again we play as the warrior called Adol Christin who, after the ship he was traveling went under, ends up with the rest of the crew on the cursed island Seiren. Our hero's dreams about the mysterious girl named Dana turn out to be the key to solving the mystery of the island.

An expansion to the 2018 action RPG Monster Hunter: World. Iceborne introduces an entirely new, frosty land, as well as a number of dangerous opponents and changes in the combat system. DLC is the responsibility of the authors of the basic version of the game, i.e. developers from the Japanese studio Capocom.

Monster Hunter: Rise is another part of the popular series of action RPGs, in which we play the role of a monster hunter. The game was developed by the Japanese company Capcom which has been responsible for the development of the cycle for years.

The action takes place in a vast fantasy world filled with a myriad of mythical creatures. The protagonist is a chosen one who comes back to life, after having been killed by a dragon, to slay his murdered and uncover the truth about his own identity.

An unusual, isometric RPG game that is the first title developed by Estonian studio Fortress Occident. The game is focused mostly on narrative. It takes place in a fictional world that combines modern setting with fantasy traits and with retro-futuristic technologies. The player assumes the role of a policeman who is tired of life. He begins working on a case that can either give him a chance of redemption or take him to the very bottom.

Two-dimensional sandbox inspired by Terraria, Stardew Valley and The Legend of Zelda series from independent HopFrog studio. Players find themselves in an open world where they collect raw materials and produce items necessary to unlock new activities. The game has no predetermined goal and leaves us free to decide what we want to do.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... is a new version of the cult RPG NieR Replicant. The updated edition offers nicer graphics, improved soundtrack and a powerful campaign with additional characters, threads and endings.

A third-person action game developed by Team Ninja studio (known from titles like Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden) under the supervision of Koei Tecmo company. We play as a samurai fighting against various enemies, among which we will find both humans and monsters. We cut our way through the enemies not only with conventional weaponry, but also with special abilities of our hero and the magical power enchanted in his sword. Gameplay is a mix of games like Onimusha and Dark Souls.

A remastered edition of 2011 Dark Souls. The game offers improved visuals allowing players who own Xbox One X, PlayStation 4 Pro, and PC Windows to enjoy 4K resolution and stable 60 FPS.
