The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (XONE)
RPG 19 May 2015
An action RPG and the third chapter of the adventures of a morally unambiguous monster slayer, Geralt of Rivia. As were the parts of the cycle, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s literary works, while not being a direct adaptation of any of his books. The story picks up after the events of the previous game and focuses on several plotlines, including Geralt’s lost love, invasion of the Nilfgaard Empire on the Northern Kingdoms, as well as the eponymous, spectral hunt. The gameplay is characterized by a sandbox style, giving players much freedom in exploring the vast world (an area more than 40 times bigger than in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings) and completing hundreds of side quests. The developers from CD Projekt RED introduced many new features, including a new REDengine3 that offers excellent audiovisual quality.
Action 13 May 2016
The fourth part in one of the most famous FPS franchises in history, originated by id Software Studio in 1993. Since then, the overall story premise remained basically unchanged, having the player take on the role of a sole commando who has to fight hordes of demons from Hell spawned in a military research base as a result of a failed experiment. In contrast to the third game, which featured numerous horror elements, Doom focuses on fast-paced action, thus going back to the roots of the series. The hero learned some brand new skills, including spectacular finishers, making the gameplay even more brutal. One of the landmarks of the franchise is the considerable multiplayer mode, this time enriched with a useful tool called SnapMap. It lets players create not only maps and locations, but also their own play modes – from cooperative battles against enemy hordes to classic Deathmatches.

We witness the final face-off between light and dark, the latter embodied by an organization named XIII, led by master Xehanort. An online action game with MOBA features set in fantasy world, and the debut project from the American studio, Motiga, established by veterans of the gaming industry led by James Phinney (StarCraft, Guild of Wars). Its story takes us to a land filled with magic and fantasy races, while the game itself concentrates on skirmishes between two teams of five people. Each player takes control of a selected hero with unique skills and equipment. The teams don’t fight by themselves though, as they are supported by eponymous giants, controlled by AI, the most durable and deadly units in the game. The main objective is to defeat the opposing team’s giant, which can be weakened by capturing certain points on the map. Typically for such games, we observe everything from third-person perspective and develop our characters during a match, use environmental objects, and combine attacks into deadly combos.
