In the game, heroes exploring dungeons encounter monsters defending the place against undesired visitors. Up to four players can meet in a session - one of them assumes the role of the hero traversing dungeons filled with threats.

Roguelike in a westerne climate, made in the form of a dynamic twin-stick shooter. In Colt Canyon, we play the role of a hero, who wanders through randomly generated levels to save his partner and return home safely.

An action game with roguelike and metroidvania elements by indie French studio Motion Twin. During the game, you explore a grim castle, whose elements (such as chambers, cloisters, and sewers) are procedurally generated. Given the permadeath system, it means that each new gameplay is a fresh experience, during which you can discover new parts of the fortress. An important aspect of Dead Cells is combat, which is very difficult.

A dynamic action platform game with roguelike features. The game was developed by the Polish studio Awesome Games. In Badass Hero the action is presented from a side perspective. The game focuses on exploration of a randomly generated comic book-like world, avoiding many traps and obstacles, and on combat with encountered enemies. The protagonist can use various shotguns, machine guns, rocket launchers, and grenade launchers.

8.5 Game Score

The Color of Madness is an expansion for a turn-based RPG Darkest Dungeon. DLC introduces a new type of adventure, in which the players face endless waves of enemies while trying to reach their objective, and a new faction. There are also more trinkets that weren’t seen before.

A complex roguelike production in which we go to a hard-ruled city and our task is to reach the top floor of the metropolis and overthrow its mayor-tyrant. Streets of Rogue can be played alone or with up to three players.

8.3 Game Score

Void Bastards is a hybrid of FPS and strategy. We command a gang of prisoners who have to break through a nebula full of shipwrecks. The player makes decisions about subordinates, direction of travel and management of raw materials, and the exploration itself takes place in the style known from FPS.

The work of a one-man Canadian studio Brace Yourself Games in the form of a unique independent production that combines features of seemingly contrasting elements of a roguelike RPG and a dancing game. Crypt of the NecroDancer lets us play as a girl named Cadence, who sets on a journey to find her missing father. It leads her to the mysterious crypt ruled by an evil demon known as NecroDancer. It casts an unusual curse on the protagonist, making her heart always beat in rhythm of a music.

8.1 Game Score

A continuation of the well-received game that combines elements of platform games, RPGs, and roguelike productions. Both installments of the Risk of Rain series have been developed by the independent studio called Hopoo Games. In Risk of Rain 2, a player assumes the role of a character traversing the surface of an unknown distant planet with the objective of surviving in this unwelcoming environment and exploring locations filled with aggressive adversaries.

A unique mix of a classic dungeon crawler and a dynamic, two-dimensional shooter from the debuting American studio, Dodge Roll. We play as a hero seeking for the legendary weapon that can change the past of a distant planet. To achieve his goal, he must explore the eponymous ancient temple where many dangers and surprises await him. Featuring a top-down view, the game tasks us with exploration of randomly generated levels of the temple.

7.8 Game Score

The first expansion for the 2016 dungeon crawler RPG Darkest Dungeon by Red Hook Studios. The add-on utilizes the gameplay mechanics from the core game — you complete a team of heroes and set out to explore the eponymous Darkest Dungeon. Your goal is to find enormous riches, with which you can expand a shabby hamlet, also serving as your base.

7.7 Game Score

An independent, two-dimensional RPG roguelike game that combines affordability with a high level of difficulty. The production is distinguished by its original graphic design and based on simple assumptions, but interesting combat system.

7.6 Game Score

A retro roguelike RPG action game, combining hack’n’slash genre with narrative adventure game features, developed by Dead Mage studio. The titular Morta is a mountain guarded by many generations of the Bergson family. When a mysterious power defiles the source of life within the mountain, turning local creatures into bloodthirsty monsters, we must set on journey as subsequent members of the family to gather seeds of life and stop the spread of chaos.

7.5 Game Score

A science-fiction roguelike RPG with tower defense elements, developed by the independent studio Amplitude. The players take on the role of prisoners sent to the planet of Auriga to atone for their crimes. The ship ends up crashing, with the survivors ending up in an ancient underground complex they must escape.

7.2 Game Score

A first-person action game developed by Uppercut Games, the company also known for creating Submerged. The game was inspired by The Book of One Thousand and One Nights, and tells the story of a thief who is trying to steal a treasure from a cursed city haunted by evil ghosts and monsters. The players get to traverse randomly generated locations in search for loot and gold, fighting numerous foes on the way.

7.2 Game Score

Old-school, two-dimensional arcade game with RPG elements, referring to the popular 8-bit roguelike games. We travel through randomly generated castle chambers, eliminating enemies and various traps lurking in wait for us. In case of death, we continue the game from scratch, choosing one of our three descendants.

6.8 Game Score

A dark fantasy cRPG developed by debuting studio Red Hook. The story is set in a dark, medieval-like universe. While exploring ruins of an old castle and its dungeons, you face off against forces of darkness that overwhelmed the land because of the reckless actions of its previous sovereign. As you delve into the depths, you discover the dark history of a family who brought the evil upon the world.

6.7 Game Score

A fantasy roguelike RPG developed by Digital Sun Games, an independent Spanish studio. The action of Moonlighter takes place in a remote merchant town where the protagonist, Will, runs a store. His ambition is to become a true hero, but to make the dream come true, he has to gather adequate equipment and master a variety of useful abilities first. The production’s mechanics combine elements of a classical roguelike RPG and a trading card game.

6.4 Game Score

Risk of Rain is an action platform game with elements of cRPG, created by an independent studio Hopoo Games. Player-controlled heroes try to survive on a distant planet inhabited by many sinister creatures. The production is characterized by retro style and high level of difficulty.

6.3 Game Score

Hades: Battle Out of Hell is another production of the talented Supergiant Games studio, which has given us titles such as Bastion, Transistor and Pyre. This time the creators prepared a spectacular, roguelike dungeon crawler, set in a world known from Greek mythology.

5.8 Game Score

A card game with roguelike elements, developed by Mega Crit. In Slay the Spire, you have to reach the top of the eponymous spire; however, there are hordes of enemies on your path. The task is made even more difficult by the permadeath system.

4.9 Game Score

A sandbox platform game by indie studio Re-Logic, sometimes called the 2D version of the popular Minecraft. There is no set goal; your task is basically to shape the randomly-generated world around you. At first you only have a few basic tools, which allow you to dig and find resources, chop wood, and create simple structures. As the game progresses, due to the extensive crafting system, you discover better tools, allowing you to create advanced materials and to fight monsters.

3.4 Game Score

The work of Daniel Mullins - author of the original Pony Island and The Hex - combining elements of card games, FPP adventure games and roguelikes. In Inscryption we get to the Leszy's hut and in order to leave it we have to fight a victorious card duel with him.

2.5 Game Score

Old school and very dynamic action game. In Vampire Survivors we play as a character whose task is to survive as long as possible in the arena full of enemies. As we progress we develop the character, so our combat potential grows.
