iOS Simulation Video Games

Simulation games. These titles put emphasis on simulating authentic (or fictional) actions in the most realistic manner possible. They allow the player e.g. to control civil (digger, crane, bus) or military vehicles (plane, tank, warship). Life simulation games (especially The Sims series) are very specific example of titles in this category, because they can simulate almost infinite number of aspects of human lives. more

Simulation 02 June 2009

The third major installment in a life simulation game series, The Sims. The title was developed by The Sims Studio in cooperation with Maxis and Electronic Arts. As per usual, The Sims 3 lets you take control of a life of a virtual character from the cradle to the grave. Your job is to provide for the needs of your family of Sims when it comes to their social interactions, family matters, and career. The Sims 3 introduces two significant novelties to the game: lifetime wishes and a personality system that attributes 5 dominant character features to each Sim. As compared with previous installments in the franchise, the game’s 3D visuals were significantly improved.

The Sims: Medieval is a spin-off installment of the popular life simulator The Sims. The title was developed by Maxis. As the title suggests, the game takes place during the Middle Ages, albeit with a humorous spin. Similarly as in the other Sims games, the player must take care of the needs of the virtual characters. Depending on selected profession (for example king, knight, wizard, bard, blacksmith), the events are shown from different perspective and the available missions vary. The creators of The Sims: Medieval focused on immersion and allowed the players to have strong impact on the shape of the game world, including the looks of the characters.

Simulation 06 August 2015

Another installment of the farming simulation game series from GIANTS software. Contrary to most of the major entries in the franchise, Farming Simulator 16 was created solely with the PS Vita handheld console and mobile devices in mind. In the game, we traditionally assume the role of farm owner, and our task is to turn his possessions into a true agricultural empire. Achieving this requires us to sow and harvest, and then invest the money we’ve earned into the farm’s development as well as new vehicles and devices. The title features over 50 fully licensed agricultural machines of various type that we can personally drive while working in the field. Compared to its predecessor, the game offers new sorts of crops, but the biggest novelty is the introduction of forests, along with a pretty big set of hardware for felling and processing trees.

I Am Bread (iOS)
I Am Bread (iOS)

Simulation 03 September 2015

Yet another joke simulation game, a genre which, contrary to any logical reasoning, keeps gaining crowds of fans. The hero of this game, developed by an independent team at Bossa Studios, is a slice of bread, and the player’s job is to take it all the way to a toaster. Gameplay mechanics in I Am Bread are pretty complex, the biggest difficulty being controlling all four corners of the toast separately. With these mechanics the “hero” can perform simple moves on any flat surface. The game is played in various rooms, and in order to get the toast to its ultimate destination you can make use of various types of house equipment, e.g. a fan, which makes for an excellent catapult. While playing, you must also supervise two essential statistics of the bread: its edibility and deliciousness. Too much dirt can make the toast completely inedible.

The gameplay is based on sandbox rules, allowing the player to freely control the fate of his Sims – he can send them to work, take them to interesting places in the city, help them make friends and even make them marry someone and give birth to children. In addition to controlling the life of the Sims, the player can design their house or take care of their garden. Simulation 2018

An unusual action adventure game developed for mobile devices. Wake The Dreamer tells a story of a low-level corporate employee who gets teleported to a dream world when sleeping. The game begins with the creation of our character using an extensive editor. The gameplay itself is divided into two separate sections. During the day, we take part in our hero’s daily life, which means working, taking trips around town, and buying new clothes and furniture. Wake The Dreamer has an interesting feature – our character lives his life according to a real clock, and proceeds with his duties even when the game is turned off. However, once the hero falls asleep, we switch to a dream world, in which we use a spaceship to travel between planets, take part in a galactic conflict between alien races, or even try to find love. Both worlds constantly force us to make important decisions that influence the plot as well as the future of our protagonist. Wake The Dreamer employs pixel-art visuals, fitting the theme of the game.
