Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition (Switch)
Action 11 May 2017
A sandbox game that defies classification, developed by the independent Mojang AB studio. Minecraft has been developed with the intention of unleashing the creativity of players, who can freely change the game's virtual world made from voxels (cubic blocks). The gameplay concentrates on terrain transformations, building structures, crafting items, and creating your own adventures. The game consists of two modes: a classic one, which allows for unending experience, and survival, in which we have to prepare to fend off monster assaults at night. In addition to single player, Minecraft also offers online multiplayer. The game from Mojang AB is distinguished by its unique retro visuals.
LEGO Worlds (Switch)
Another game from Traveller's Tales, featuring the highly-popular LEGO bricks. Unlike the previous installments in the series, this time the game doesn’t take us to any movie or comic book universe. LEGO Worlds was designed as a multiplayer virtual playground, in which the gameplay is focused on creating our own constructions and exploring thus created brick world with other players. The game is a classic sandbox reminiscent of the popular Minecraft, giving us complete freedom to shape the world around us. Players can meet and interact in various ways, as well as take part in a variety of adventures. The game also provides a whole range of popular brick vehicles, and hostile characters with whom we often have to fight. The entire production features a colorful visual style characteristic for the whole series.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 (Switch)
PayDay 2 (Switch)
A sequel to the first-person online shooter PayDay: The Heist from 2012. Both games were developed by Overkill Software in co-operation with Starbreeze AG. Players become members of a gang that specializes in bank heists, kidnapping, and drugs transportation. The main campaign consists of six dangerous jobs, offered via the CRIMENET system. The creators of PayDay 2 took special care to diversify the missions – as some mission elements are random, no two playthroughs are exactly the same. Just as in the first game, gameplay puts emphasis on the cooperation of up to four players. The game's impressive visuals are powered by Diesel Engine 2.0.
Splatoon 2 (Switch)
Action 21 July 2017
A continuation of a multiplayer-focused TPP shooter from 2015, developed for the Nintendo Switch console. Splatoon 2’s gameplay follows its predecessor and lets the players control Inklings – joyful human octopuses who fight using paint-based weapons. Those can be used not only to attack opponents, but also to paint the map – which is one of game’s objectives and allows increased movement speed and faster ammo regeneration. Major novelties include e.g. new weapons (Splat Dualities), moves (Dodge Roll) and heroes (including refreshed versions of the old crew). Controls have been adjusted to both Joy-Con and Pro Controller (a more classic gamepad). It is important to note that in both cases the players can use gyroscope, which is useful for aiming.
Dragon Quest Heroes II (Switch)
Action 03 March 2017
An action game with numerous RPG elements. Similar to its predecessor, it is a spin-off title in the Dragon Quest franchise by Square Enix, and although it retains a similar atmosphere, it offers several new solutions. The plot of Dragon Quest Heroes II references the events of its predecessor. Despite the lack of any direct links to the core Dragon Quest productions, there are a few familiar faces to see here. As befits a hack and slash game, Dragon Quest Heroes II focuses on quick and spectacular combat. The player fights hordes of enemies who would pose no threat in a one-on-one fight but can be dangerous in larger numbers. Moreover, from time to time, the protagonist faces powerful bosses; to defeat them, it is necessary to use more advanced tactic. Although the game focuses on arcade hand-to-hand combat, it does not lack a complex plot and script. Dragon Quest Heroes II offers three-dimensional graphics which resemble Japanese manga and anime stylistics.

The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ (Switch)
Arcade 17 March 2017
Second DLC for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth developed by Nicalis studio. It adds tens of unique items to create more surprising combinations, new monsters to defeat, the special bestiary that describes them, and bonus rooms that form a huge labyrinth. Aside from that, the add-on features more difficult Greed mode and an additional chapter, as well as a new playable character and five unique challenges. However, the most important novelty is the added support of modding tools, which allows players to freely modify the most important elements of the game and create new equipment, monsters, characters and even whole campaigns or game modes.
Super Bomberman R (Switch)
Arcade 03 March 2017
Super Bomberman R is another game in the popular Bomberman series and a launch title for the Nintendo Switch, developed by Konami. The game has 3D visuals, but we observe the action from the classic top-down perspective. We play as the titular Bomberman, and our job is to eliminate enemies we encounter on various maps with the bombs at our disposal. Even though the gameplay mechanics are not that complex, a more tactical approach is needed when entering new levels. Taking advantage of the environment of each level is the key to success. For example, we can place our opponent in a trap without any exit. Super Bomberman R offers two game modes: Story, for one or two players, or Battle, a local or online multiplayer for up to eight players.
Dragon Quest Heroes I & II (Switch)
Action 03 March 2017
Dragon Quest Heroes I & II for Nintendo Switch is a collection of two third-person hack-and-slash games and Dragon Quest series spin-offs developed by Omega Force. Both games are 3D hack-and-slash titles, very similar to the Dynasty Warriors series in terms of gameplay. As we play, we will explore enormous open locations and fight with hordes of enemies. The available heroes have different attacks and special abilities. They can block and evade attacks, which comes in handy when facing the gigantic bosses that require from the players a bit more tactical approach. The Nintendo Switch versions of the games previously released on PlayStation include all DLCs and exclusive content, and brand new characters and scenarios.

Just Dance 2017 (Switch)
Party 03 March 2017
The next installment in the popular series of dancing games developed by Ubisoft. The series allows the player to feel like the professional pop dancers who accompany the greatest stars on the top scenes of the world. In Just Dance 2017 the basic gameplay mechanics remained unchanged in comparison to the previous entries in the franchise. During the game the player must repeat the movements of the dancers displayed on the screen and the system (which, depending on the gaming platform employs different controls) will grade performance and technique. The game, as usually, is filled with licensed hits of such performers as Queen, Shakira, will.i.am, David Guetta, Sia, Justin Bieber and PSY. It is worth mentioning that Just Dance 2017 is the first installment of the series that was released also on personal computers.

ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove (Switch)
Another instalment in the action-adventure games series about two strange aliens – ToeJam and Big Earl. During their interstellar journeys, their ship crash-lands on a nearest planet which turns out to be Earth. The heroes and their friends (sporadically, you are in control of Peabo and Lewanda) need to find replacement parts for their vessel in order to go home. Similarly to the first part of the game, ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove presents the action from the isometric point of view. The mechanics consists in free exploration, fighting absurd enemies, and playing funny minigames. During gameplay, the heroes come across mysterious presents which can either help or harm – the only way to find out is to open them. Co-op is surely an asset – each adventure can be played solo or with up to three other players. All of this is complemented with great visuals – the world and the characters seem like they were cut out from paper, and the depth is intensified by the 3D perspective. The pleasurable soundtrack is inspired by the 1990s’ music trends.
