Fortune Online is the work of Massive Multiplayer Online studio NetDevil (Lego Universe, Jumpgate: Evolution), owned by Gazillion. The title combines the features of classic action-RPG productions with the advantages of flash technology and extensive social options, typical for online games.

Fortune Online moves players to a world called Alaros. It was once ruled by the Council of Dragons, born of the First - the prehistoric of all gods. Some of them, under the leadership of Mir'Goth, rebelled and formed the Dark Pact. A war broke out during which, faithful to the order brought by the First Dragons, they led an army of people, elves and dwarves to victory. Mir'Goth was imprisoned and his hordes of undead were defeated. There was a room. As time passed by, dragons appeared less and less frequently among the inhabitants of Alaros, and their seat, the Great Fortress, became deserted. However, the Dark Pact has not been completely destroyed. Mir'Gotha's forces have grown in strength and are threatening the world again. A handful of heroes who came to the fortress's defenders' call have to face the evil.... Chris 'Ombwah' Holtorf is responsible for the extended Fortune Online feature layer. He is also the author of most of the missions, which in the game receive characters directed by players.

Many elements of Fortune Online gameplay refers to action-RPG classics such as Diablo or Sacred. The game features an intuitively simple control system and a clear interface. Players have several character classes to choose from, including a warrior, priestess and magician, each with three specializations. The heroes describe four basic coefficients - strength, health, dexterity and mind. They affect parameters such as physical and magical damage, defense and chance of hit. Another important element is the energy points spent, among others, on new missions and crossing the boards. Their pot regenerates while they are away from the game. Some locations in Fortune Online have a fixed appearance, while others are generated randomly, which prevents repetition. Players can also go down to the dungeons they instantiate.

The basis of the game is to fight the hordes of monsters inhabiting the area of the Great Fortress. The key to success is the use of special skills that can be developed with each level of experience. Most of the defeated opponents leave the loot in the form of objects and coins. Hundreds of weapons, potions and armour elements appear in the game, many of them have special bonuses in addition to the basic parameters.

Although Fortune Online enables solo gameplay, the game prefers teams of characters with complementary assets (e.g. a warrior can bind opponents in battle, a priestess can heal and support them with spells, and a magician can use distance spells). The strength and type of opponents, as well as the tasks to be performed depend on the level of the hero/group.

The FO audio-visual luminaire is at a high level, taking into account the technology used. The picture in the game is presented in a classic two-dimensional isometric projection.

As befits the production of MMOs in Fortune Online, there is no shortage of social options, including the possibility of trading between players, internal chat and mail. The business model of the game is based on the micropayment system. In practice, this means that some elements (such as better equipment) are available for a fee in the online store.
