Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury for GBA is the final part of the trilogy and a direct sequel to Legacy of Goku and Legacy of Goku II.

Plot

The plot is based on the events depicted in the Dragon Ball Z TV series. The game's story begins when the second part of said series ends. Goku decides not to return to the Earth – along with his companions, he has a long journey to cover before fighting the most powerful enemy – Majin Buu. The plot of a hundred episodes was contained within about ten hours of playthrough, so those unacquainted with the Dragon Ball universe can feel a little lost here.

Mechanics

Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury for GBA is a role-playing game. In combat, the characters perform attacks well known by the fans of the TV series; with subsequent duels, skills can be developd as well. The player can assume the role of Vegeta, Goku, Gohan, Goten or Trunks here for instance. The player also has an opportunity to create a character called Vegetto by fusing certain other characters together. Apart from that, the player discovers new characters alongside progression in the story. Enemies defeated drop items and money which can be spent on equipment for the in-game characters.

Contrary to the previous installments, characters are described here by an additional statistic, i.e. speed; equipment used by particular characters has a significant impact on their perforamnce. As a result, the player needs to choose between having a character that is weak and fast, or one who is stronger, but slower. The game allows to create a link between two GBA consoles in order to fight another player, as well as both exchange and trade (equipment).
