Open Season is an action-adventure game based on an animated film of the same title. Wii players can meet all the characters known from the film, including the two main heroes – Boog the grizzly bear and Elliot the deer, as well as Giselle the hind. Of course, the story focuses on the abovementioned bear, who once lived among humans, but now has to survive in the wild, while being tracked by hunters.

The main hero, together with his one-horned friend, has to journey through a number of locations and do many missions on the way. Boog and Elliot find themselves in a rushing river, a mine, or the forest. You travel not only on foot – depending on the game level you can e.g. use a trail cart or roll down the slope on a snow ball. There are also several “tools” useful for eliminating enemies. You can be aided by stinky skunks or nut-throwing squirrels.

The control system, based on the wireless Wiimote controller and Nunchuk, is very intuitive, and it should not cause much trouble to learn it. If you own four controllers, you are free to invite three friends to play along with you – there are special mini-games designed for multiplayer. The game features neat graphics, much similar to the original film.

Open Season is a family action-adventure game based on an animated film of the same title, created by Sony Pictures Animation. Open Season tells the story of a domesticated grizzly bear Boog and a stubborn, one-horned deer Elliot. The two are trying to survive in the forest during a hunting season.

The game lets you play as either of the two heroes and meet all the characters known from the movie, e.g. the park ranger Beth, and the poacher Shaw. In his adventures, Boog makes friends, who help him scare off hunters. Rabbits can stun an opponent by jumping on his head, skunks serve as real stinky bombs, whereas squirrels are excellent nut throwers. Apart from the traditional action-adventure gameplay, the game features fast-paced missions, such as rolling down the slope on a snow ball, swimming down the river on a wooden roof, or speeding through mine tunnels in a rail cart.

Besides, the game lets you challenge other players in a selection of mini-games. All this is seasoned with a large dose of humor typical of such productions, and colorful 3D graphics.
