sZone Online is a mixture of FPS and MMORPG game genres, which was released for PC / Windows. The game is inspired by the popular, post-apocalyptic S.T.A.L.K.E.R series by the Ukrainian GSC World.
The action is set in an alternative world, where the Chernobyl disaster gave rise to appearance of inexplicable, terrifying anomalies that transformed the areas affected into so-called Zones. In such places laws of physics as we know do not apply, while the local fauna underwent dreadful mutations. Zones generate artifacts that, if used properly, may bring about huge technological advancements, therefore scientists are extremely interested with them. Those willing to risk their lives to lay their hands on these objects and go deep inside the Zone are called stalkers – former military men, adventurers or simply lunatics. You are one of them.
The game begins with building your own character. There is a system of skills and those can be improved and modified during in the process of playing. sZone Online for PC / Windows features a mechanism, which stimulates natural changes in the game’s world, so the location of both artifacts and mutants is not fixed. The authors provided an abundance of missions and quests during which you will come across and fight other players (PvP) or enemies controlled by AI (PvE). Apart from that you can also craft new stuff and trade. The game’s mechanics support cooperation between stalkers – you can assemble a team or build and fortify your own base. sZone Online will cater not only for those who prefer thrilling shootouts – players favoring world exploration and using survival talents of the character will also be satisfied.
On the technical side, sZone Online for PC / Windows makes use of the BigWorld Engine made from scratch by Cybertime Systems studio. The implementation of completely new technology did not stop the authors from recreating the characteristic, dirty and gloomy visual style of S.T.A.L.K.E.R - the style millions of players fell in love with.
