Test Drive: Off-Road is the first production in a popular racing series where developers abandoned traditional sports machines and focused players' attention on powerful off-road vehicles capable of covering the most inaccessible routes. The game has an arcade character, although a model of destruction has been introduced in the game. If the accident results in a rollover, after a while we are automatically put up for four wheels. The main task of the driver is to surpass three opponents, but we have to manage to get to the next checkpoints within a certain time.

The basic vehicles available to players include Hummer H1, Jeep Wrangler, Land Rover Defender 90 and Chevrolet C1500 Z71. As the game progresses, we'll unlock additional cars, including the huge Monster Truck. Each car has a slightly different control style. We try our hand at three fun modes: Practice Race (single race on any route), Mixed League (a series of six cup tournaments in any vehicle), Class League (all competitors sit behind the wheel of the same cars).

While having fun, we cross a dozen different routes covered with a thick layer of mud, sand or snow, which has a significant impact on the way vehicles move. Each location is characterised by relatively large openness. If we want to reach the finish line as soon as possible, it is necessary to use numerous abbreviations. The only limitation in this case are all checkpoints that we have to pass.

Multiplayer mode offers fun for up to four players, both on a split screen and over the web.

Test Drive: Off-Road game graphics are of a high level. The vehicles look detailed and the creators have made it possible to paint them. The band Gravity Kills, representing the industrial rock genre, is responsible for the music track.
