Fed up with basketball games filled with NBA stars? And 1 Streetball has got you covered. In this street version of basketball you do not have to worry about the rules, and the game is so fast-paced that a countless number of throws is performed every minute.

You control the character with two analog sticks on the pad. The right one stands only for basic tricks, but combining two hands results in more complex combinations. Add another button to get third-level tricks, the most exhausting to opponents and loved by the crowd. When the opponent's stamina bar goes down to zero, you can finish him off with an effective throw at the basket, and such successful tricks are rewarded with respect points. Despite what it may seem, defending your own field is also an important gameplay element. You can take the ball from an opponent in a couple of ways, but if they fail, you can ask a teammate for help. A successful take and counter attack ended with a showy dunk, steals rival’s respect points and adds them to your score.

And 1 Streetball offers several play modes, the most important being the carrier mode. Here you start the game by creating a player with an advanced editor. Your dream player takes part in three streetball seasons. Before he becomes a champion, you have to train him in various mini-games. If you put enough effort in this, you will gain attention of coaches and officials, who might invite you for a professional competition. In competitive matches you get to show off all tricks learned during training. Winning popularity also opens for you a way into different countries, letting you win hearts of people all over the world.

Regarding tricks, it is noteworthy that you can discover and combine new ones, thus creating your own play styles. Tricks are split into four stages. The first one is the starting phase of dribble (how about bouncing the ball off an opponent’s face?), then the way of passing an opponent (let’s dribble the ball between his legs), and the third – finishing off the situation. The last one is celebration (show off in front of the crowd). In order to collect complex combos, you have to collect the aforementioned respect points.

All this is presented in really neat graphics. Especially nice are light effects, like the ball blazing during a spectacular dunk. Much is achieved by the camera, which closes-up at tricks and during replays of successful actions. Moreover, a number of realistic crowd shouts were recorded, and the music builds up proper street atmosphere. Also the commentator did a great job – he mourns your mistakes and gets excited about beautiful actions.

And 1 Streetball also contains multiplayer for two or five players. You can transfer your player from the career into multiplayer. Online play lets you review all the statistics and ranks, and create cups and tournaments.
