Puzzle Kingdoms is a puzzle game with RPG elements, developing ideas known from Puzzle Quest and Puzzle Quest: Galactrix - previous productions by Infinite Interactive studio. Once again, we move into the world of Etheria, to save this land from extinction with our strength, dexterity and magic.

Plot

The plot in Puzzle Kingdoms is based mainly on exploring Etheria, conquering new territories and castles and performing various quests, commissioned by the encountered NPCs. This game takes solutions known from the Warlords series which means that the primary goal is to develop our kingdom. To do this, we need to create a strong and invincible army of knights, archers, sorcerers and all sorts of friendly monsters. During the numerous clashes, we can send a part of our army to fight, additionally affecting their combat abilities using various types of objects and spells. These upgrades are unlocked as the game progresses and they are financed with gold, gained during quests and battles, or obtained by our economically developed kingdom.

Mechanics

The combat screen in Puzzle Kingdoms resembles the board found in Bejeweled. However, since this logical aspect is the essence of the series, the developers decided to introduce several changes and improvements to the gameplay. In the new version, to get bonuses during the fight, we will have to group not three, but four units of the same type. This time, however, they can appear not only horizontally or vertically, but also in a square or L-shape. You can change the layout of the units on the combat screen by placing a new figure in it, which, depending on the location, will result in the appropriate regrouping of elements on the board. By knowing the rules, we can create various tactics that will make our actions even more effective.

Game modes

Apart from the single-player campaign, which should take at least a dozen or so hours to complete, Puzzle Kingdoms allows you to have fun in several additional game modes, designed for both single- and multiplayer. We can practice our strategic sense alone by visiting the undergrounds, tavern or chapel. And in the quick mode, we can face our chosen opponent - both another player and a computer opponent.
