Heroes of Might & Magic series has earned numerous game awards. It is being continued up to this day and its fanbase is still growing. Anticipating the PlayStation 2 release, the players were waiting in suspense until they received quite bizarre and changed product. Those who had owned Sega Genesis immediately noticed some resemblance. Yes, Heroes of Might & Magic was released for Genesis back in the day and was quite impressive back then. Quest for the Dragon Bone Staff is indeed a remake of HoMM for Genesis. It is significantly different from the PC releases, though - it’s simplified. We won’t have to reside in any castle, let alone develop or defend it. We can only control one hero and our choice of profession is limited to a barbarian, sorceress, paladin and knight. Not much of a choice there.

Generally, we ride from village to village, garrison to garrison, gathering people for our army and gold for our purse. Gold is the only currency in the game. Forget about the resource trading, too. The maps haven’t changed since the release of the Genesis version and although the graphics did go full 3D, it doesn’t really absolute the overall product. The PC series still go forward, and even the older released are complex enough to still be fun to play today.
