The Crow’s Eye for PC / Windows is a first-person horror adventure game developed by a small Spanish studio 3D2 Entertainment. It was inspired by folk tales and hit games like Bioshock and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The game offers an engaging story and the unique atmosphere created by things seemingly not important, like a ray of light going through a hole in the wall.
Medical University in Crowswood was closed in 1947 after a group od students disappeared without a trace there. Twenty years later, a young man is trapped inside that building as a part of experiment which he did not agree to be a part of. To escape, he will have to discover its secrets and find out the connection between the building and the event from twenty years ago. All of that happens under a watchful eye of a mysterious observer.
Gameplay in The Crow’s Eye for PC / Windows is presented from the first-person perspective and focuses mainly on exploration and solving riddles and puzzles. To solve them, we have to use our intellect and items found along the way, just like in the point-and-click adventure games. We will also find documents and audio and video recordings here and there in the building. Their contents will eventually lead us to the discovery of the reasons behind the 1947 dissapearance. Before that, however, we will have to finish nine levels the developers have created.
Visuals in The Crow’s Eye for PC / Windows are on a decent level. Rooms of the university’s building are diversified. Developers paid much attention to the play of lights and, from time to time, players are accompanied by interesting visual effects, like the distortion of the screen. Naturally, The Crow’s Eye also has an atmospheric soundrack that creates a mood fitting for the game.
