Star Wars: The Old Republic - Shadow of Revan PC

Star Wars: The Old Republic – Shadow of Revan is the second story DLC for the popular Star Wars MMORPG. Similarly to the first expansion pack, Shadow of Revan introduces a new episode to the history of the Old Republic and it increases the experience level cap of the character. The expansion was developed by BioWare Austin – the team responsible for the creation and further improvements of Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Plot

The story in Shadow of Revan for PC focuses on a dark Jedi known mostly from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. After many experiences, he decides to finally end the conflict between the Republic and the Sith Empire by destroying both factions. Players, as members of one or the other faction, are trying to stop the destructive plans of Revan and his army of fanatics.

Mechanics

The new story plot automatically means series of new main and side quests. They take place in two large locations – on the tropical planet Rishi and on the smuggler’s moon Yavin 4. These missions enable the players to increase the combat abilities of their characters. The expansion increases the experience level cap to level 60. In addition to that, the character development system has been greatly modified – the classic skill tree was replaced with a disciplines system that is clean and easier to use.

In addition to story quests that can be easily played alone, the developers introduced two new Flashpoints and Operations – an advanced team missions for players who are paying the optional subscription fee. Four new Hardcore mode Flashpoints were added as well (old missions with new difficulty level). The expansion features new weapons, clothes, schematics, vehicles and other content. Single players additionally gained the possibility to complete group missions in solo mode – however, this is limited only to the story missions.

It is worth mentioning that all dialogues in the cutscenes are – as usual – fully dubbed.
