Bounty Train

Bounty Train is an economic strategy developed by a small Canadian studio Corbie Games. The game takes place during the second part of the 19th century in USA. We play as a beginning railroad mogul and our job is to accomplish the tasks we are given that focus on transporting cargo. We begin with piecing our train together and with hiring employees: from train drivers to control our machine to gun men who will guard our precious train from robbers. Hiring the right people for the job is crucial because each and every one of them has different, more or less useful skills. As our business grows, we will invest the money we made in better train engines, more modern carriages, other equipment, and coal, our train's fuel. The game also has a nonlinear plot that focuses on finding the lost family and trying to safe the native Americans from relocation.

Bounty Train is an unusual economic strategy game from a small Canadian studio Corbie Games. The production transports us to the USA, between the years of 1860 and 1868, where we participate in a non-linear story, concerning a search for a missing family and the attempts to save the native Americans from resettlement.

The gameplay has nothing to do with travelling through America with a gun in your hand, as the players step into the shoes of a greenhorn railroad tycoon. In the beginning of our playthrough we purchase a railway engine and several carriages, which we choose from different available models, each featuring its own unique attributes and price. After assembling your first machine you also have to hire mercenaries to protect your train from bandit attacks; each gunner also has his own statistics and skills, e.g. some have more fire power at their disposal, while others can hit their targets from a greater range or are more resilient and can endure several gunshot wounds.

Once you finish preparing your convoy, you set out and take control over the railway engine, while also commanding your crew (e.g. by picking targets you want them to shoot at); during your adventures you will pass through various American towns, where you can accept new orders regarding the transportation of different goods. There is plenty of equipment which you can acquire on your journeys in Bounty Train, such as: numerous steam engines, carriages, new workers and soldiers or the much needed coal used to fuel your train. Additionally, the title features many historically accurate events, which influence the gameplay.

The graphics of Bounty Train are neat and legible. Overall, the visual quality is neither stunning nor disappointing.
