Heroki is a colorful platform game that takes place in Levantii, a magical land high above in the clouds. The game was developed for iOS by Picomy, an independent studio based in Netherlands. The developers managed to interest SEGA, which has decided to distribute the game.

Plot

Throughout the centuries, the inhabitants of Levantii were guarded by Emerix – a magical artifact created by one of the founding fathers of the land. One day, an evil Dr. N. Forchin has invaded the happy community and stole Emerix, which can become a dangerous item in wrong hands. We assume the role of a boy whose head is peaked with a propeller. When our hero (named Heroki) becomes old enough, he is sent to join a group of defenders of Levantii. His first mission is to retrieve the invaluable artifact.

Mechanics

When it comes to mechanics, we are left with a classic platform game, similar to the latest installments of Rayman series. During the gameplay, we travel varied sceneries such as beaches, caves, hills, valleys, and cliffs, filled with numerous dangers and enemies to defeat. Heroki has a wide set of abilities, and depending on your intentions, you can make jumps, and push or pull various objects using one finger. We can also make use of the propeller on the boy’s head, using the virtual gamepad to begin flying. During the gameplay, we visit shops located all over Levantii, which allow us to spend the money gathered in the course of the game on useful power-ups such as shields, explosive cookies, or hourglasses slowing the passage of time.

Technical Aspects

The visuals looks very attractive (considering the game was developed for iOS mobile devices) while colorful and smoothly animated graphics keep the pace with the games known from PCs and consoles.
