Bonded is a 3D platformer game released on XONE, PC and PS4. The game was published by Iceberg Interactive and developed by Portugal studio Arkavi, the creators of Lords of the Black.

Plot

The story of the game takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting. The vision of future presented by the developers shows a world in which humanity reached a very high technological advancement level. However, the people became too dependent on intelligent robots and other technologies. Because of that, human species was completely unprepared for the disaster that caused the machines to rise against their creators and to start hunting humans.

The story campaign starts many years after these events. Only few hundred humans remain and the cities are now in control of the nature. The game tells a story of a small girl named Mira who spent her whole life in a bunker. Most of the inhabitants of the bunker were killed by a mysterious illness. Girl’s parents leave the safe haven in search for a cure. When they do not return in the appointed time, Mira is forced to start a dangerous journey in search for her lost father and mother. During the trip she is accompanied by a domestic robot named Bao who, in difference to his kindred, doesn’t have deadly intentions.

Mechanics

Gameplay mechanics in Bonded for XONE, PC and PS4 are similar to the ones used in any other regular adventure game. During the game player explores three-dimensional locations, gathers items and solves riddles. There are no traditional battle sequences in the game. The player can switch between the girl and the robot at any time of the game. Each of these characters has unique traits and abilities. Correctly utilizing the differences between them is the key part of many riddles.
