Battle Islands

Battle Islands for PC, PS4, etc. is a free-to-play strategy game set in the World War II, similar to the popular mobile social strategies like Clash of Clans. The game was developed by DR Studios, previously known as Deep Red Studios, the creators of such titles as Monopoly Tycoon, Hospital Tycoon, Beach Life and Tycoon City: New York. The title was originally released on the most popular mobile platforms, such as iOS and Android, but despite its purely mobile origin - as one of the few representatives of its genre - it also reached users Facebook, PCs and the eighth generation consoles - PlayStation 4 and Xbox ONE.

Plot

The action of the game takes place in 1942, on one of the tropical islands of the South Pacific where, during a war turmoil, our platoon lands. This doesn't mean that we aren't in trouble - the enemy stationing on the nearby island can attack us any time. To survive, we need to act quickly, taking control of a wide range of land, air and sea units.

Mechanics

The gameplay mechanics does not differ significantly from most social strategy games. Starting from a small base, our task is to continuously strengthen it by creating new buildings and recruiting new units. All this in order to be able to attack islands of other players in order to take over their resources. Of course, this works the other way, too. Time in the game flows even after we turn the game off - we can be robbed of resources during our absence, unless we have taken care of the proper protection of the base.

The game uses a classic free-to-play model which, although well known to mobile players, is a kind of novelty on PCs and stationary consoles. Practically every activity in the game requires waiting for a certain amount of time - from a few hours to a few days. This process can of course be accelerated by using the premium currency - as you can easily guess - purchased for real cash.

Technical aspects

Battle Islands on the PC, PS4, etc. has a simple but neat and transparent graphic design, similar to other mobile games. The game has a well-developed control model, which works great when using a touch screen, mouse or console gamepad.
