Grand Prix Rock 'N Racing

An arcade racing game from Spanish studio EnjoyUp Games with classic top-down view. Though its focuses on Formula 1 racing car competition, its driving model is anything, but realistic, and fair play rules are rather lightly treated.

Grand Prix Rock 'N Racing is a top-down arcade racing game developed by the Spanish studio EnjoyUp Games, previously known mainly from casual productions for Nintendo consoles.

Mechanics

EnjoyUp Games' title is a typical representative of its genre. Although the fun revolves around the rivalry of Formula 1 cars, the driving model used in the game does not have much in common with realism, and the rules of fair play sports have been treated with a pinch of salt. In the game, we race on ten different circuits in ten countries, and the whole competition is divided into seasons. The key to victory in the game is not only the dexterity of the player but also, to a large extent, the parameters of our car, which we modify for the tokens gained in subsequent races. So while in the first season of the competition we can forget about places on the podium, gradually improving such elements as engine power, acceleration, turbo, brakes, tires and gearbox, in the following seasons we will move up the ranks and compete for top positions.

Game modes

In addition to the typical career mode in which we participate in successive races with 19 AI drivers, Grand Prix Rock 'N Racing also offers the opportunity to play single-player time trials and the option to compete in a local multiplayer mode for up to four players.

Technical aspects

Grand Prix Rock 'N Racing runs in 1080p resolution, but has a rather average graphic design, focusing primarily on dynamic competition, which resembles toy car races rather than real Formula 1 competitions. The races are viewed in a classic top-down view and at a considerable distance, and the track environment is more ascetic, as are the sounds of engines and laconic commentary accompanying the races. On the plus side, however, we can count the soundtrack, as the title suggests, leaning heavily towards rock'n'roll.
