Take Off: The Flight Simulator is a complex flying simulator for AND and iOS. The game has been developed by former members of CD Projekt RED, Traveller’s Tales, and Infinite Dreams – namely, the Jujubee studio, which already gave us such games as a tactical RPG Spellcrafter and a series of futuristic racing games, Flashout.

Mechanics

The main ambition of the developers was creating one of the first flying simulators for mobile, which would not be inferior in terms of mechanics and visuals to its counterparts from living room gaming systems. The players take the role of a beginning pilot, and have to steer his career and acquire subsequent licenses, allowing the player to fly more diverse machines. The game starts in a beautiful scenery in Hawaii, and then takes the player to 20 different airports all around the globe, among them Los Angeles, New York, Sydney, and London. The first version of the game contained 14 well designed airplanes – from small general aviation airplanes to big passenger jumbo-jets. Each of them fitted with a detailed 3D cockpit, which allows the player to feel like in a real airplane. For a mobile game, Take Off: The Flight Simulator manages to provide a pretty realistic and polished flight mechanics. The players have to be able to take off and land skillfully, as well as need to consider such factors as speed, altitude, and direction.

Game modes

Take Off: The Flight Simulator contains a complex campaign mode with many different missions – from regular commercial flights to rescue missions. Apart from main tasks, there are also some additional challenges, such as bad weather, or airplane malfunctions. Along with the player’s progress, new machines are unlocked, successively expanding the fleet of the player’s airline. The airplanes already owned can be modified with different skins and mechanical components to improve their performance. The game also offers a free flight mode, apart from the campaign.

Technical aspects

Compared to most of simple and rather budget mobile simulators, Take Off: The Flight Simulator for AND and iOS boasts with its great graphics. Apart from a decent amount of planes with detailed 3D cockpits. The changing weather conditions and accurate maps that are pretty detailed are also noteworthy.
