The Horus Heresy: Battle of Tallarn for PC and iOS is a turn-based strategy set in the Warhammer 40.000 universe. It was developed by HexWar Games, creators of mobile games such as Bloody April, Civil War: 1861 and 1775: Rebellion.

The Plot

The game begins after the Iron Warriors bomb Tallran, which leads to the planet becoming a barren wasteland. Those who survived by hiding in the underground hideouts join their forces and call all the tank legions – from Leman Russ to Baneblade – for help.

Mechanics

The Horus Heresy: Battle of Tallarn for PC and iOS is a typical turn-based strategy where we decide about the tactics, the placement of our units on the map, and so on. There are eight unique units available (tanks, infantry, etc.). Within each of these tiers, you will find different kinds of soldiers and machines, which gives us around 66 units designed with hight attention to detail and over 50 kinds of weapons.

The game is made of three campaigns (Apocalypse, Resurrection, Revenge), each of them offers six missions. Battle of Tallarn also offers a tutorial for the players not acquainted with the genre.

Misc.

The Horus Heresy: Battle of Tallarn for PC and iOS is a rather low budget mobile game, which rather conspicuous. The devs, however, paid much attention to the units design so that every Warhammer 40.000 fan should be pleased with how they look.
