Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is the fourth edition of the well-known series of tactical action games branded with the name of a famous writer. The title was developed by Ubisoft Paris, who also created previous installments of Ghost Recon series (Advanced Warfighter, Advanced Warfighter 2) as well as many other original productions (XIII, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc). Other studios involved in the works were Ubisoft Red Storm and Ubisoft Bucharest.

The player takes on the role of an elite soldier whose unit is tasked with a series of hazardous missions. Future Soldier, as the name suggests, focuses on the latest military technologies. Players can lay their hands on prototype weapons, which can be tested in long solo campaign and several online multiplayer modes. Advanced weapons and gear that you can use on the battlefield include machine guns, turrets, as well as gadgets, like the night vision, or a small robot able to spot enemies behind objects.

For those who love tinkering with weapons, the game developers prepared Gunsmith system, which enables creation of rifles and pistols from dozens of various components. The effectiveness of newly constructed weapons can be tested on a training map.

Missions are set in different parts of the world, including Dagestan and Zambia. New Ghost Recon draws inspiration from classic titles of the genre, by using a dynamic cover system. Future Soldier strongly emphasizes group combat – you can use the sync shot system to eliminate opponents by tagging and executing them. Another advantage on the battlefield comes from the use of optical camouflage, which makes your character invisible when lying or crouching.

Apart from single player, Future Soldier also offers extensive multiplayer. Three character classes, powerful arsenal, whose elements are unlocked along with new experience levels, and a strong emphasis on cooperation, make the gameplay especially attractive for fans of tactical team battles. Just as the developers promised, the best results are achieved by teams with good communication and cooperation. When it comes to realism, the gameplay stands somewhere between Call of Duty and Battlefield series.
