Lumines is the first logic game released on PlayStation Portable. This next Tetris clone, although a more complex one, was created as a cooperation between Q Entertainment and Bandai. The game’s publisher is Ubisoft company.

The player’s job in Lumines is arranging bricks coming from the left side of the screen. Clearing off seemingly complex figures is done by matching colorful brick with it. Combining two elements of the same color makes them disappear, which may lead to an impressive, rewarding chain reaction and the player’s satisfaction. The game’s simple graphics and fitting electronic music with techno vibe (which adjusts to the situation on the screen) come hand in hand with interesting gameplay.

The authors prepared 4 game modes. The main one offers 24 levels with unique musical themes and sound effects. You can also test your skills in puzzles (simple logic challenges), time attack and duels. The latter let you challenge another PSP owner via Wi-Fi. The best players will discover dozens of extras, such as new backgrounds and artworks.

Lumines was created by a man best known for a shooter game REZ released on Dreamcast console and PlayStation 2, as well as a music game Space Channel 5 (DC), Mr. Tetsuya Mizoguchi.
