Super Ski 3 is the next installment of the popular series of sports games by Microids, devoted entirely to winter competitions. A player playing the role of one of eight players will fight for medals in a hypothetical tournament, evoking associations with the Olympic Games. This time the authors decided not to experiment too much with the range of disciplines and, according to the name of the programme, they devoted them exclusively to skiing. In addition to the traditional forms of skiing in the professional edition, such as special slaloms, downhill runs, giants and jumps, there are also two snowboard competitions waiting for the player.

As was the case in previous editions of the program, you can train each of the competitors to your heart's content before the start of the actual competition. Considering that you put even more effort into mastering a player than in Super Ski 2, it is worth to use this option. Training is also helpful for other reasons. The authors have returned to the possibility of choosing one of the routes, which corresponds to the next levels of difficulty. The player can practice driving in all conditions and during the tournament use the skills acquired in this way.

The competition is no different from what we have seen so far. For each competition we have one or two attempts (depending on how much we wanted at the beginning). You need to get the best possible time, and in the case of ski jumping the distance. A novelty is the ability to continue driving after a fall. Possible trips will of course affect our final result, but the error does not automatically eliminate the game.

Each subsequent installment of the Super Ski series can boast an increasingly better audio-visual setting, which of course confirms the third part of the game. The competitor's silhouette is large, well animated, the routes have more details, including decorative elements such as trees, which are easy to knock on when driving too fast. The sound looks very good, especially the music composed of several tracks. In addition, while driving, we will hear digitized samples of the commentator, which tells us about errors, e.g. when bypassing the gate. Generally Super Ski 3 is an interesting proposition for fans of virtual skiing, although it's hard not to get the impression that with each game from the series, Microids wants to reach a more demanding user. And this is not necessarily good.
