Motivated by the success of the game Dogz, Ubisoft company decided to release a sequel to this hit. This time we received Catz – a simulation of the life of... a cat.

At the very start, you select a pet from 13 available breeds. You can choose from the Persian, Himalayan, or Abyssinian, and even the exotic Ocicat. Besides, cats differ in gender and size. Once you have taken in your selected cat, now the two of you start working on the bond between you.

This is done e.g. by giving the pet pretty toys and trinkets bought in a virtual store. You also have to feed your friend, as well as take care of its physiological needs. Besides, you must not forget about petting and brushing the kitten, so that it feels safe with you. On top of that, you can play together, take the cat for walks and train it. The cat will learn to be loyal to you, if you give it enough attention. The pet informs you about its needs with several different meows and snorts. If you have a wired connection with another player’s console, your cat can visit your friend’s virtual house. There, the two kitties will play together.

Catz also lets you view various statistics of your pet. The game does a good job at teaching the player some of the responsibilities that come along with owning a real pet. Another advantage is the game’s esthetic graphics and pleasant audio.
