The changes in the visual aspect of the game are instantly noticeable.
The story shows the events that started two years after the conclusion of the first game in the series. This time the player is not defending himself from Helghast, but he is attacking their home world instead. The objective is to capture the leader of the monsters, Emperor Visari. The main character is an ISA soldier Sev. The mission starts in Pyrrhus City, the very center of the conflict.
In order to make the game more enjoyable, the developers added destructible environment. The number of weapon types was increased in comparison to the first installment. New vehicles can be found as well, making defeating crowds of Helghast easier. Both our enemies and allies on the battlefield are controlled by a refined artificial intelligence.
