New York Taxi is the fourth game from a series of relatively simple races published by a German producer. The player takes on the role of the title taxi driver, this time the arena of his actions is the famous American city.

As in previous titles from the Taxi series, the player must distribute passengers to their designated seats in the shortest possible time. It is therefore extremely important to get to know the layout of streets, as well as the location of the most important shortcuts. Depending on the speed of bringing the client to the place, the player receives a greater or lesser bonus. The people picked up come from different social groups. The player can take businessmen, brokers, tourists and even gangsters. Traffic plays an important role during the game. Interestingly, its intensity depends on the current time of day. The player must also watch out for passers-by, who are not deducted, because they jump in front of an incoming taxi at the last minute. There are four vehicle models to choose from, differing in performance or grip. Cars are not indestructible, subsequent impacts translate into significantly poorer car performance, and its bodywork is subject to numerous deformations. It is worth mentioning that the game rewards cascading tricks, for which the player is rewarded accordingly.

The singleleplayer campaign consists of sixteen stages played in different districts of the city. In order to be promoted to the next districts you need to earn a certain amount of points. In addition, you can enter the traditional race in one of the already open sectors, as well as the time trial (from 3 to 10 minutes). The game also includes a large number of online games, players can meet both on the LAN and on the Internet.

The game's visuals are at a similar level to previous titles released in the series. Noteworthy are the effects of smoke, fire, as well as reflections on the bodywork of the vehicle closest to the environment. The soundtrack consists mainly of the sounds of the city, the dynamic soundtrack was also taken care of.
