Twisted Metal: Black Online is a revised version of one of the most playable arcade games. The Twisted Metal series was launched in 1995. Subsequent games were played on the first generation of the PlayStation. Twisted Metal: Black was the first title in the series to be released on PS2. This online version was created for network sympathizers of skirmishes. This is one of the first games using the capabilities of the Network Adaptor. At the same time, it is worth mentioning that fans of playing alone will not find here too many attractions, because some elements known from the basic version of Black have been removed or modified in terms of online gameplay. Cuts did not bypass intermittent films, thanks to which it was possible to lower the age classification of the game.

The basic rules of the game remain unchanged. We have many different machines at our disposal. These include traditional pick-ups, huge trucks and monster trucks, but also extremely agile buggy cars. Each vehicle is equipped with an appropriate arsenal of tools of destruction. In this case we can talk about two objects - used by all racket or machine gun players, as well as special attacks, reserved exclusively for a given machine.

This online edition has eight basic fun modes to offer. They should be well known to fans of online games. These include, among other things: Deathmatch, Last Man Standing (the last vehicle remaining on the battlefield wins) or Collector (collecting specific items). There are about twenty different maps. As in the basic version, the boards are very diverse. Players can choose between fifteen different machines. However, a maximum of eight players take part in a single battle.

An important role in the course of the game are also power-ups scattered here and there, thanks to which you can regenerate your health, get better weapons, or temporarily speed up a controlled vehicle. Winning these bonuses often allows you to tip the scales of victory on your side. The visual setting of the Online edition presents a very similar level to the basic version of the program. However, many elements that could interfere with network skirmishes have been removed. These include passers-by, who have been completely abandoned. The units are still extremely dynamic and have many impressive explosions.
