Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground is an innovative role-playing game that is much closer to the Diablo series than the more complex Baldur's Gate games. The distinguishing element of this game is the necessity to design your own dungeons, in which various monsters appear later on. Thus, it can be concluded that a similar patent was used here, for example, to the hit Dungeon Keeper. The only difference is that we continue to control a brave hero and not a character hostile to the world around her.

This production was created in a Japanese company Global A Entertainment. The developer has also played such games as Heaven's Will or Akudaikan. Dungeon Maker is also one of the few products of this company that was decided to release outside of Japan. The only target platform for Dungeon Maker is the PlayStation Portable console. There are also no multiplayer modes.

During the game we take control over the figure of Architect, that is the title constructor of dungeons. The main character arrives to help the inhabitants of a small town plagued by monsters. The controlled character decides to design a dungeon in the surrounding caves, thanks to which it will be possible to divert the beast's attention from innocent people. It is on the creation of the next underground rooms that we spend a significant part of the fun. A very simple editor is used for this purpose. We need to design both corridors and rooms, filling them with traps or treasure boxes.

Sows that have already been constructed should be gradually expanded. This is required for new, stronger types of monsters to appear in caves. However, fun is not only about construction. Dungeon Maker is also a classic action game in which we control the main character, eliminating all the creatures we meet. We can take care of ourselves both in the town and directly on the battlefield. You can choose between classic white weapons and powerful spells. However, the development of the main character is presented in a very simplified way. In the course of the game we also perform simple quests, usually requiring the acquisition of a specific item or killing a particularly strong monster.

The whole is observed in isometric projection, although it is possible to rotate the view and make close-ups. Visually, however, Dungeon Maker does not impress, falling behind the pocket version of Dungeon Siege, among others. Despite the lack of a fully fledged multiplayer, the producer took care to be able to send hand-prepared dungeons to other players.
