Spectrobes: Origins is a combination of action and adventure game elements embedded in SF climates. This item is a kind of continuation of Disney Interactive Studios' 2007 Spectrobes and 2008 Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals, but as Origins was created for Wii owners, it is also a separate production that does not require knowledge of the games (although it helps to understand the world created for the game).

The story told in previous editions of Spectrobes is presented in a series of flashbacks of the most important events and then moved on to the main plot of Origins. The player again plays the role of an officer named Rallen, commanding during the fights with huge creatures - titled Spectrobes. Our task is to save the world from the murderous Krawl race, but in order to achieve this goal we have to find all Spectrobes whose creators have prepared about 100 genera.

The first visible novelty in relation to its predecessors is the representation of the world in three dimensions. The next one is a slightly modified battle system - the summoned monsters fight at our side using the power that the element they represent gives them. For example, an ice monster can freeze an opponent, giving us the opportunity to make a series of blows. On the other hand, skilful mastery of the Wii controllers allows us to unblock the special attacks of our wards, so that they can hit opponents more effectively. Spectrobes, however, are not the only weapon against the Krawls. Our character can also use all kinds of swords, blasters, power gloves or axes.
