The Sims Medieval for PC, iOS and WP is a special edition of The Sims series, transferring the popular and recognized model of the game in the Middle Ages. The production was developed by The Sims Studio and combines elements of strategy and CRPG.

In contrast to the standard edition of The Sims where the action takes place in modern times, the aim of the game in The Sims Medieval is the expansion of the medieval kingdom. The player has a full control over the entire process, but what it is worth noting - the direction of development depends on the character of the game.

The plot of the game depends on the character which is chosen by the player - a king or queen, a knight or a wizard, blacksmith or bard present different story, from a different perspective. It involves access to a separate set of quests that will not only develop the story but also affect the shape of the represented world. There are many tasks referring to classical history, which will be appreciated by all medieval, or fantasy climates lovers (for example: forge a legendary sword, arranging a royal wedding, protection the kingdom from the evil wizard, finding the fountain of youth).

Despite division the game into roles, the decisions made by the player can affect primarily on the development of the kingdom. In the game, the player decides whether the power of the kingdom will be build by reinforcing ties between residents or by the attempt to conquer the lands, which belong to the neighbors. Nothing stands in the way to the players focused only on their characters, disregarding the lieges. On the other hand, the ruler may prove well to be law-abiding and righteous man, who enjoys a great and unaffected recognition among the inhabitants of the kingdom.

In The Sims Medieval for PC, iOS and WP the main key is immersion, which the high level has been achieved mainly by putting in a players' hands mechanisms which allow to change the shape of the world around them as well as the appearance of the characters. The purchaser of the game has the ability to customize the nature of the hero as well as determine the scope of the tasks. Nevertheless, it is not only the realization of quests but there are also daily activities (trade, babysitting, knights’ tournament)- it is the element of the classic version of The Sims.
