Persona 4: Dancing All Night on PlayStation 4 is a classic rhymic-music game, a spin-off of the hit jRPG Persona 4: The Golden. The title was produced by the development team of the Japanese company Atlus, in cooperation with Sega and the Dingo studio, known primarily for its Hatsune Miku series: Project Diva. Persona 4: Dancing All Night was originally published only on Playstation Vicie in 2015. The port's release on PlayStation 4 accompanied the debut of Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night. The new version of the game has been enriched with the content of previously released DlC, as well as improved graphic design.

Story

Persona 4: Dancing All Night has an extensive fictional campaign, designed mainly for fans of the original Persona. The action of the title takes place shortly after the final. Persons 4... and players have the opportunity to reincarnate the character of its main character. Rise Kujikawa has returned to her career as an idol and singer. While preparing for a big music festival, she comes up with the idea that her friends from her hometown of Inaba should perform with her on stage as dancers. Everyone is going to Tokyo and together with Rise is preparing for the concert. Soon, however, they become entangled in another mysterious matter. This time she is associated with a competitive pop band Kanamin Kitchen and its members, who disappear in mysterious circumstances. The story is presented in its entirety in the form of a traditional two-dimensional visual novel.

Mechanics

Persona 4: Dancing All Night is a typical rhythmic-musical game, which has been prepared for people who do not have much experience with the genre. Although the title of the production contains the word "dance", the player's task is only to press one of the six illuminated buttons (three directional buttons and three function buttons) at the right moment. The key to victory is reflection, precision and a good sense of rhythm. The creators prepared a total of several dozen different songs and several degrees of difficulty. For the completion of each song we are rewarded with a virtual currency, for which we can buy accessories and outfits for all heroes.

Technical issues

According to what Persona lovers are accustomed to producing under the Persona brand, Persona 4: Dancing All Night is maintained in the traditional colourful and expressive style for this cycle. Three-dimensional graphics were made with the use of cel-shading technology. Noteworthy is the soundtrack, which consists almost entirely of remixes of tracks from Persona 4's soundtrack, prepared by Japanese musicians headed by Tetsuya Komuro and Daisuke Asakura.
