Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak
Strategy 20 January 2016
An online RTS developed as the debut project from Blackbird Interactive, studio founded by former employees of Relic Entertainment - the creators of the cult Homeworld series. Originally, this game was entitled Hardware: Shipbreakers, however, the partnership with the current owner of the Homeworld franchise, the Gearbox Software company, resulted in changing the game’s title and its official inclusion as a part of the series. The game is set on the surface of a newly discovered planet, filled with shipwrecks left by alien civilizations. Under the supervision of the ruthless LMI corporation you roam the desert planet, digging out the wrecks for trading purposes. As there are more parties interested in such discoveries, all disputes quickly expand into armed conflicts. As you play, you can engage in exploration, undertake missions, or fight enemy AI either on your own or in cooperation with friends.
Homeworld Remastered Collection
Strategy 25 February 2015
Homeworld Remastered Collection is a remastered edition of the space strategy that wast first developed in 1999 by Relic Entertainment. The game was rejuvenated by Gearbox Software, studio known for the game series Borderlands and Brothers in Arms. We follow the history of Kushan, a forgotten race that once was attacked by an alien civilization and almost entirely wiped out. However, over six hundred thousand of Kushans survived in the hypersleep chambers of a gigantic Mothership. They decided to rebuild their civilization and face the old enemy. In terms of mechanics, Homeworld Remastered Collection is a classic real-time strategy game that takes place in 3D rendered space. In the newer version of the game, visuals were visibly improved (now the game uses HD textures). Cutscenes were also redrawn. Multiplayer mode was improved, and the game's OST was remastered under the watchful eye of its composer.
