Arcade November 2017
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is a sequel to the 2013 platform/action game LEGO Marvel Super Heroes developed by Traveller's Tales. This time we will have to face Kang the Conqueror who travels in time and causes turmoil in various eras across the history. Once again we will be able to play as several dozen Marvel characters, including Thor, Hulk, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Gameplay focuses on exploration (we will visit Wild West, ancient Egypt, 2099 New York, and other times and places as we play), combat, and solving simple puzzles and riddles. The game offers a single player campaign and a multiplayer mode (co-op and PvP arena battles) for up to four players.
Terraria: Otherworld is the second part of the popular sandbox platform game, developed by Andrew Spinks and his independent studio Re-Logic. In the game, referred to as “two dimensional Minecraft”, we are given the ability to shape a randomly generated world without restrictions and to create a number of useful tools, utility objects and structures via its crafting system. Terraria 2 has a similar, old-school layout and similar mechanics as the original, but the game features also a huge number of changes and innovations that were not implemented by the author in the first installment of the series. First of all, players were given an infinite number of worlds at their disposal, each representing a different biome, e.g. woodland, arctic, desert, or lunar. Furthermore, character development system, object finding and creation, as well as the interface of the game, were modified. The game traditionally focuses on cooperation of many players, what allows them to collectively raise buildings or fight encountered monsters.

Another installment in the popular platform game series by SEGA. The game was developed by Sonic Team, the creators of Sonic Generations and Sonic Colors. Once again, you play as the eponymous super-fast hedgehog, and your task is to lead the resistance and face the evil Doctor Eggman and his army of giant robots. Sonic Forces utilizes the third person perspective. Like in the previous games of the franchise, you traverse the maps full of obstacles and enemies, and collect golden rings. The biggest attraction of the game is undoubtedly the most characteristic feature of the brand - the speed. The protagonist moves so fast that sometimes you may not be able to discern what is happening on screen. The game also features an option to summon alternative versions of Sonic and to control several of them at once — it is the only way to deal with challenges, which are too much for just one Sonic.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
An arcade flight simulator and continuation of the popular series published by Bandai Namco. Like its predecessors, Ace Combat 7 is set in alternative timeline, in which there are different countries, and humans have constructed unique flying units. Game focuses on the story, which we learn both through events during missions and many cutscenes. The gameplay is mostly arcade, with only a few simulation’s features. Due to that, realism has to move over and make space for dynamic and eye-catching sky fights, including battles with powerful bosses. Each available plane flies slightly differently, resulting in a more varied experience. Ace Combat 7 offers a story campaign for one player and multiplayer mode. Developers made use of Unreal Engine 4 and also added support of PlayStation VR goggles.

A two-dimensional action game with designs resembling old cartoon movies, which is a debut production of StudioMDHR, an independent developer. In Cuphead, we assume the role of a gambling addict that loses his soul to the devil during one of his sessions. To retrieve it, he needs to work off its equivalent. When it comes to mechanics, the game is a 2D fighting game with a degree of platforming elements – we participate in continuous 1v1 fights, taking place on special 2D arenas. During combat we can make use of a wide range of weaponry, as well as several outfits bestowing us with special powers. Each of the enemies has his own fighting style, which needs to be countered in order for us to win. In opposition to the genre classics, our enemies are controlled by dynamic AI, making the game tough to beat and less predictable in case of replays.

There, we will have to deal with our problems in the most traditional way – kill everything and everyone in our way. Our job is to get from one end of the map to another, eliminating our enemies along the way. We will be facing gangsters, soldiers, zombies, and mutants. Vinnie’s skills and abilities come in handy when doing our job. He can use all sorts of firearms (shotguns, riffles, pistols, etc.), do a double jump, kick, roll, or use two guns at the same time. We can also use elements of the environment to eliminate our enemies.

A third installment in the Pinball FX series. In the game developed by Zen Studios, a player can try out the new thematic pinball machines, as well as import most of the machines from Pinball FX2 and Zen Pinball 2. The game attempts to translate the real pinball experience into a video game setting. A player is tasked with bouncing the ball with the so-called flippers located at the bottom of the table to hit multiple targets and keep the ball in the game for as long as possible, before it falls into the drain located at the bottom of the play field, below the flippers. The objective of the game is to earn the best score possible. In comparison to the previous installments in the series, Pinball FX3 puts a much stronger emphasis on the multiplayer experience as well as social aspects of the game. Players can enter friendly matches, compete within an online league and tournaments organized by the fans themselves. Moreover, the game delivers several single player modes allowing one to increase his skills and familiarize himself with the general rules.

The mechanics of the game are built from a few different adventure, platform, or logic games elements. Our protagonist traverses the world and fight against his enemies. As the game progresses, the hero gains new experience levels, increasing his power and health points, while found coins enable him to buy various items facilitating the game.
A colorful, two-dimensional platformer game for mobile devices, created by Mobge Games - a Turkish developer. With its relaxed atmosphere, the game describes daily life and habits of Vikings. As a platformer game, Viking Mushroom offers twenty-five different levels filled with opportunities to jump and climb. The player encounters large numbers of traps, enemies and collectibles as well. The titular mushrooms are significant here, for they were eaten by Scandinavian warriors in order to acquire superhuman powers, according to the tradition. The game recreates such situations, for each of many kind of mushrooms available gives access to a set of useful abilities. The game offers colorful visuals, resembling the Rayman series in this aspect. What deserves special attention is the fact that both the plot and certain gameplay mechanics are rooted deeply in the tradition of Vikings and supported by research conducted on their culture.

The player will explore eight extensive levels set in different environments, such as ancient forests, mountain streams, or Roman defense walls. The protagonist moves to the right throughout the game, eliminating hordes of enemies using a sword and a shield, as well as his fists and head. The visuals are slightly caricatural and cartoonish; the visual style features exaggerated character models and a large portion of brutality.
Genital Jousting is an unusual party game developed by Free Lives and published by Devolver Digital. We take part in various minigames, with up to eight players in local or online mulitplayer mode. What is unusual about the game is that we are controlling flaccid penises with wiggly anuses. Our "protagonist" can be dressed up in various clothes which will make him somewhat unique and easy to distinguish among the other "characters" controlled by the rest of the players. Our goal is to penetrate our opponents' genitals and at the same time avoid being penetrated. However, that is not the only thing to do in Genital Jousting. The game offers a couple of different minigames, like racing, herding the dachshunds, or unusual football. Due to the erotic themes, the game is for adults only.

A compilation of two games developed by an independent British studio, Puppy Games, now re-released on PlayStation consoles. The package contains Titan Attacks! and Revenge of the Titans – two titles previously released on PC in 2011 and 2012 respectively. The first game is a two-dimensional retro shooter, heavily inspired by the classic Space Invaders. We assume the role of a commander of the last tank on Earth, and our objective is to save the planet from invading hordes of aliens. Revenge of the Titans is a classic tower defense title – the player builds various defensive structures which are to repel continuous waves of attacking enemies. Both games return with a reworked interface, and are now running in 60 frames per second. As could be expected, the controls have been remapped to fit a console gamepad (or PS Vita buttons).
Oddworld: Soulstorm is another game in the popular platform-adventure game series developed by Oddworld Inhabitants Inc. and Frima Studio. Gameplay in Oddworld: Soulstorm did not change that much since the first 2013 New ‘n’ Tasty. It is still a 2.5D platform-adventure game where we have to rely on Abe's and his fellow Mudokons' abilities. The game, however, is a bit darker in terms of stylistics.
