Euro Truck Simulator 2 (PC)

A sequel to the popular truck simulation game. Just like its predecessor from 2008, the game was developed by Czech developer SCS Software. Euro Truck Simulator 2 lets you play as a truck driver and owner of a delivery company. The core gameplay has you transport cargo between towns and cities. The game’s map comprises of a large part of Europe, and features a significant number of cities you can visit. The money you earn doing jobs lets you purchase new trucks or customize the ones you already own. Euro Truck Simulator 2 sports attractive visuals and realistic driving model, which takes into account not only well-researched real-life physics, but also the current road conditions.
The Forest (PC)
A first-person perspective (FPP) sandbox survival horror game. The Forest is the work of an independent studio SKS Games, known mainly for the smartphone hit, End Night. The player assumes the role of a sole survivor of a plane crash. The hero ends up on an isolated island far away from civilization, inhabited by a tribe of cannibalistic mutants. The gameplay focuses on the exploration of land (forest, caves, etc.), survival skills (building a shelter, searching for food, setting traps, etc.), and fighting or avoiding confrontation with opponents. The creators have made an effort to create a lively, fast-changing world, allowing for great freedom of action. As for the technical side, The Forest utilizes Unity 4 engine.
Euro Truck Simulator 2: Going East! (PC)

The first big expansion to the highly-popular simulation game, Euro Truck Simulator 2. The add-on has been prepared by Bohemian studio SCS Software in answer to community’s request. Euro Truck Simulator 2: Going East! adds new locations to the basic game, the Middle Europe countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia. The developers made sure to include faithfully recreate topography of each town (including landmark buildings like the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw or the Buda Castle in Budapest), as well as realistically depicted, dense network of national roads between them. Small changes we also introduced in the visuals, especially in landscapes along routes.
Resident Evil VII: Biohazard (PC)

Seventh major installment in the cult series of survival horrors created by Capcom and launched in year 1996 on the PlayStation console. Subsequent parts of this long-standing series concentrate on a battle the humanity wages against a deadly virus which transforms those it infects into bloodthirsty monsters. The players accompany several characters who appeared in various installments of Resident Evil over the years as well as in many side installments. The game, being faithful to tradition, shows the action in third person perspective and the gameplay is based on exploration, fighting enemies and solving occasional logical puzzles. The game has a horror atmosphere which, across subsequent installments in the series, was gradually reduced in favor of action elements. Resident Evil 7 combines the best aspects of the old and new installments and is the first main Resident Evil game created for the eight generation consoles.
Elite: Dangerous (PC)

The fourth installment in the Elite series. The game is a space simulator created again by David Braben and the Frontier studio. Elite: Dangerous is set in the far future; after humanity had colonized countless star systems, the Universe is dominated by three superpowers: the Empire, the Federation, and the Alliance. Brave pilots seek easy money working beyond the territories controlled by these entities. The open-world game structure offers the players large amounts of freedom when it comes to exploration, trading or completing military assignments. Instead of the classic division into the solo and multiplayer modes, the creators of Elite: Dangerous allow the player to join their friends or return to single-player experience at any time.
War Thunder (PC)

A free-to-play MMO flight simulator. It was developed by Gajin Entertainment, a Russian studio which previously created such titles as Wings of Prey, Birds of Steel, and Apache: Air Assault. The players assume the role of fighter pilots and can pilot hundreds of carefully recreated World War II aircrafts. The developers made sure that battlefield reality is faithfully reflected not only in the air, but also on the land (artillery, infantry) and at sea (navy). Progress allows us to upgrade our planes, buy new kinds of weapons as well as learn new piloting skills. War Thunder stands out from its competitors thanks to its high-quality visuals and realistic flight physics.
Half-Life 2 (PC)

A sequel to the Valve Software's best-selling game that set new standards for the FPS genre back in 1998. Half-Life 2 is set several years after the events of the first game. Once again, the player assumes the role of Gordon Freeman – a doctor of physics who used to work in Black Mesa Labs, where an unfortunate incident opened a portal for alien life forms to invade the Earth. This time, the story takes us into a fictional City 17 and its immediate vicinity. The protagonist now works for a secret government organization. His mission is to repel the invaders from another dimension, in which he is aided by Alyx Vance – a young women fighting as a part of human resistance. The sequel introduces a technological revolution, employing the Valve’s proprietary game engine called Source. Its main advantage is excellent physics simulation, letting players destroy almost any element of environment and use various objects as covers or even weapons.
Star Citizen (PC)
A space simulator created by Chris Roberts and the Cloud Imperium Games developer team. The plot of Star Citizen is set in the 30th century. Humanity, united under the banner of United Earth Empire, has begun the colonization of the universe, encountering many alien races in its course. It is a unique opportunity for adventurous pilots to gain fame and wealth, as well as the treasured status of an intergalactic empire citizen. The gameplay combines elements of spaceship simulator, shooter, cRPG, as well as economic strategy. The game offers two modes. Squadron 42 is an offline campaign, in which the player-controlled character joins an elite squadron of star fighters. For MMO aficionados, the developers have created the Galaxy Mode, allowing them to play with thousands of others. Spectacular visuals of Star Citizen are generated by the CryEngine 3 engine.

Project CARS lets you test your driving skills, putting you behind the wheel of diligently recreated cars of different classes – from karts, through sport cars, to Formula 1 racing cars. The creators highlight the authenticity of the experience, including realistic driving model and advanced collision system, as well as impressive visuals. The game offers many varieties of gameplay in both single player and competitive online multiplayer.

A very realistic racing simulator developed by independent studio Kunos Simulazioni, which specializes in the genre. The developers of Assetto Corsa have previously created such games like netKar Pro and Ferrari Virtual Academy. The game allows the players to assume the role of professional race drivers and participate in thrilling races of various car classes – from mass-produced vehicles, through prototypes, to the legends of GT and F1. The game has a realistic driving model developed by racing engineers and professional drivers. The model calculates many factors related to the car’s behavior on a track, including g-force distribution and tire grip. Assetto Corsa’s high quality graphics employ the potential of DirectX 11 libraries and the eighth generation consoles. It uses such technologies like HDR, motion blur, dynamic lightning and shadows.
7 Days to Die (PC)
A post-apocalyptic sandbox FPS developed by a debuting indie studio The Fun Pimps. The game takes you to a near future, when a nuclear war allowed a dangerous virus to spread across the entire world. The virus kills its victims in 7 days, as the title suggests, and turns them into bloodthirsty zombies. You play as one of the few not infected people, fighting for survival in Navezgane County, Arizona. 7 Days to Die allows you to freely explore its open world, adjusting the story to your actions. To help you survive in this hostile environment, the game introduces a well-developed crafting system that lets you gather food and resources to make useful tools and fix or upgrade your hideouts. The authors prepared a campaign for solo players, as well as a score of online modes, both competitive and cooperative.
Ancient Amuletor (PC)

Ancient Amuletor is a VR action game with tower defense elements developed by the Chinese studio TiGames. Players are taken to a unique universe where mages and gunslingers fight with enemies on maps inspired by ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Action is presented from a first-person perspective (FPP). Gameplay focuses on defending magical crystals against waves of enemies. The game offers four playabale heroes: mage equppied with a characteristic staff, gunslinger, archer, and dollmaker. All of them make a good use of their unique weapons and special abilities. It has to be mentioned that, like in many similar games, we cannot move around the map and are stuck in one place. The game can be played alone or with up to three additional players through online coop. Ancient Amuletor requires VR goggles and motion controllers to be playable.
Team Fortress 2 (PC)

The continuation of the multiplayer FPS with strategy elements, being a continuation of the legendary Quake’s freeware modification from 1996. After Valve Corporation bought the title, subsequent versions of the game were powered by Half-Life’s engine, while TF 2 utilizes the modern Source engine. To some extent, mechanics resemble those in the original Team Fortress, which means completing subsequent missions, despite the other team's efforts to prevent that. There are 9 well-balanced classes which feature unique abilities. Cooperation – the key to success – consists in the skillful use of character abilities that supplement each other. The most characteristic element of the game are the exaggerated heroes and humorous visuals that go against the hyper-realism trend, employing the style of an animated movie.

A first-person adventure game with logic puzzles, developed by the creator of Braid – Jonathan Blow and his independent studio Number None. The game takes you to a large, mysterious island, whose all inhabitants vanished without a trace. Gameplay has you explore this vast world, solve logic puzzles, and search for clues that will help you solve the mysteries of this place. Game mechanics resemble the cult Myst series. As you play, you have to display remarkable patience, observance, and the ability to connect different pieces of the story. Many things here have secret meanings, and the key symbols, hints, and markings were cleverly hidden within the game’s environment. The Witness features simple, but charming, 3D graphics and supports the virtual reality headset Oculus Rift.
Rez Infinite (PC)

A refreshed version of the cult-classic rhythm game from 2001. The new edition, developed by Enhance Games studio lead by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, has been adapted to make use of virtual reality goggles, but a traditional gameplay is also available. Aside from the content present in the original game, the developers added a new location, called Area X. In Rez Infinite, the player’s task is to remove the effects of a malfunction inside an advanced AI called Eden. The game mixes the gameplay of so called rail shooters, with elements of rhythm games. As a result, we don’t control the direction where our character is headed – all we have to do is to mark groups of elements appearing on the screen, which explode, generating various audio-visual effects. The abstract visuals, characteristic of the original title, have been adapted to modern standards.
Gang Beasts (PC)
A multiplayer-focused joke arcade game created by Boneloaf, an indie studio from the Great Britain. More precisely, this is an unusual brawler, in which character physics plays a key role. You control colorful little men whose animations are procedurally generated as you play. The gameplay focuses on melee combat, including punching, kicking, throwing your opponents off ledges or pushing them into traps. The game offers several diverse locations, where you can hurt enemies using elements of environment, such as scaffolds, or running trucks, to add to the base moveset. The game’s visuals are minimalistic – the environments comprise of simple, untextured geometric shapes featuring little to no detail. The game offers several modes of local and online competitive multiplayer (solo or in a team). You can also compete against AI or play in the sandbox mode.

A spectacular FPS created exclusively for VR by Skydance Interactive. The story takes place at a relatively not distant time in the future on a world destroyed by natural disasters and ruled with an iron fist by megacorporations. During the game, a player assumes the role of a six-story war machine pilot, who works for the United States Free Forces resistance. He is tasked with a mission to fight a privately owned conglomerate - HUMNX. Players get to observe the action from the first-person perspective, and the gameplay builds on battles with hordes of opponents that attack from every direction possible. On the battlefield, one can use the futuristic firearms his mech is equipped with, however, in desperate situations, one can strike powerful blows with mech’s gigantic fists. During the combat, the AI-controlled allies make for a helpful company. As the game’s story progresses, one acquires experience points, which allow a player to upgrade his machine and boost its military potential.
Dreamfall Chapters (PC)

The third installment in the series of adventure games started in 1999 with Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Dreamfall: Chapters was developed by Red Thread Games led by Ragnar Tornquist. The story of the game presents further adventures of the young protagonist, Zoe Castillo, who thanks to her highly unusual powers is able to travel between three worlds: the magical Arcadia, the technologically advanced Stark and the mysterious Storytime. Since it is a traditional adventure game, the gameplay focuses on such features like item gathering, conversations with non-playable characters and riddle solving. Despite the rather small budget of the game, developers of Dreamfall: Chapters have created attractive visuals generated by using the popular Unity Engine.
EVE: Valkyrie (PC)

Multiplayer-focused space simulator set in a fictional universe created by Crowd Control Productions (CCP Games) for their MMO title, EVE Online. This game is set in the distant future, long after humans living in the New Eden solar system get separated from the rest of the universe because of the collapse of a wormhole leading back to the Milky Way. Isolated from their kinsmen, in time they split up into five opposing factions competing for resources and space for expansion. The game puts you in the cockpit of one of the fighters known from EVE Online and participate in space skirmishes. The gameplay was designed to reward skill of individual players, not the statistics of their characters. What is more, EVE: Valkyrie supports virtual reality headsets for an even more immersive experience.
VTOL VR (PC)

A flight simulation game by Boundless Dynamics, developed for VR gear and motion controllers. The game is set in the near future, and you play as the pilot of the eponymous VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) aircraft. During the game, you have many missions to complete, including e.g. transporting land units, escorting and protecting other planes, and fighting enemies. Combat may take place in the air or involve bombing ground facilities. The game utilizes the first person's perspective, and you can look around the cabin by moving your head. By using motion controllers you move the pilot's hands, controlling the throttle and various levers and switches in the cockpit. The 3D visuals are average in quality, although the cockpit of the VTOL aircraft is very detailed.

The Wizards is a VR action-adventure game developed by the Polish studio Carbon Studio. The game takes us to a fantasy world where we play as one of the titular mages. Our job will be to travel in time in order to save the Kingdom of Men from the impending doom. We observe the action from a first-person perspective. As we play, we will explore all kinds of diverse locations where we will face your typical fantasy beasts and enemies. There are many various spells at our disposal, all of them being based on four elements. We unlock more of them (and upgrade those we already know) as we progress in the game. We will also find Fate Cards as we play. They serve as special modifiers that allow us to adjust the rules of the game to our liking and, for example, change the difficulty level.
Don't Knock Twice (PC)

A horror game developed by the independent studio Wales Interactive, which was inspired by an urban legend of a demonic witch. The protagonist, searching for her lost daughter, is led to a grim mansion that hides a dark secret. In Don’t Knock Twice, the action is presented from the first-person perspective, while the gameplay is focused on exploration of the vast house in search of carefully hidden hints as well as fighting encountered opponents with the use of various items. In case of powerful enemies, the protagonist has to flee, and with caution, in order not to be attacked by surprise — the game is full of so-called jump scares. The production is characterized by high-quality three-dimensional graphics and an atmospheric soundtrack. Moreover, the title supports VR headsets but doesn’t require them in order to work.
The Works of Mercy (PC)
A first-person perspective adventure game exploiting the psychological thriller genre. The plot in The Works of Mercy draws inspiration from such films as The Tenant by Roman Polanski and Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. The title was developed by Polish studio Pentacle, whose team members have worked on titles such as The Witcher or Call of Juarez. The player is in control of a man whose family got kidnapped by a psychopath. To save their lives, the hero has to murder several people of maniac's choosing. Whether he likes it or not, the protagonist must obey the psychopath, who constantly watches the protagonist through candid cameras. At the same time, the hero tries to find out who the oppressor is and what is his goal. Gameplay in The Works of Mercy resembles productions like Gone Home and P.T. (the playable teaser of the cancelled Silent Hills). The core of the game consists of exploration, solving puzzles, talking with the psychopath, and fulfilling his wishes. The gloomy atmosphere is accompanied by surreal visions experienced by the hero. The Works of Mercy offers graphics powered by Unreal Engine 4 and supports VR headsets.
Fallout 4 VR (PC)
RPG December 2017
A special version of Fallout 4 developed by Bethesda Softworks with VR headsets in mind. Content-wise, the game doesn’t significantly deviate from the original, although the systems of combat, crafting, and building were altered in order to work with VR devices. The title is still an extensive RPG that takes us to an open post-apocalyptic world. Apart from the main storyline, there is a number of side missions for the player to perform – the developers’ intention was to offer absolute freedom so it is only up to the players where they decide to go and how their actions influence the course of the story. Aside from characteristic features of the series, such as the S.P.E.C.I.A.L character attribute system and the V.A.T.S. aiming system, Fallout 4 VR offers extensive crafting options that lets us not only create and enhance various furnishings but also to construct buildings that serve as shelters for the protagonist and his/her companions.
