Nier: Automata (PC)
RPG 17 March 2017
Third-person perspective action game with RPG features and a sequel to the warmly-received production created by Cavia in 2010. The second installment was created by a different developer – Platinum Games known for the Bayonetta series. Despite that, Tarou Yokou, the creator of the first game, retained his position as the director of the project. The game takes place in distant future in which Earth was destroyed due to war against deadly machines. Humans, having found a safe haven on the Moon, created the limited YoRHa series of sapient androids to fight on their behalf. The YoRHa combined forces with androids of older generation and together they face the rebel machines. Two out of three protagonists of NieR Automata are completely new characters, but during the game player will also encounter characters from the first installment of the series as both stories are connected. Gameplay mechanics of the game are similar to ones in its predecessor and they offer an attractive combination of hack-and-slash, magic and RPG.
Arcade 29 September 2017
A two-dimensional action game with designs resembling old cartoon movies, which is a debut production of StudioMDHR, an independent developer. In Cuphead, we assume the role of a gambling addict that loses his soul to the devil during one of his sessions. To retrieve it, he needs to work off its equivalent. When it comes to mechanics, the game is a 2D fighting game with a degree of platforming elements – we participate in continuous 1v1 fights, taking place on special 2D arenas. During combat we can make use of a wide range of weaponry, as well as several outfits bestowing us with special powers. Each of the enemies has his own fighting style, which needs to be countered in order for us to win. In opposition to the genre classics, our enemies are controlled by dynamic AI, making the game tough to beat and less predictable in case of replays.

In the game the player controls a fighter jet which automatically flies in one direction (towards the top of the screen). Player is tasked with shooting down incoming enemy units and avoiding being hit or crashing into obstacles. It is a good idea to collect various bonuses which provide temporary power-ups and allows you to equip the vehicle with better weapons. In addition to regular enemy aircraft the player will face powerful bosses, encounters with which will require good reflexes and dexterity. Another attraction are the optional missions, during which one must save civilians. These missions are very risky but completing them grants exceptional awards. Sky Force Reloaded offers many varied levels and colorful special effects which enrich the graphics of the game.
Dead Metal Punks (PC)

In Dead Metal Punks, the players get to visit a Borderlands-like world, where the action is presented from the side and the gameplay has been divided into two different modes. In the first mode, the players control the main protagonist – Lily, while the second mode revolves around driving a fancy tank. No matter which mode we choose, we get to move left and right, and eliminate hordes of ground and air units. While playing the vehicle mode, players can experience certain platform game elements thanks to the tank’s engines that allow us to accelerate and cover a small distance in midair. Respective game stages end with boss fights, as a result of which players are awarded scrap that can be used in between the missions to upgrade our vehicle.
Shooty Skies (PC)
Action 07 March 2018
A mobile arcade shooter featuring endless runner mechanics, distributed in a free-to-play system with not too obtrusive microtransactions. Shooty Skies was developed by the same team that was responsible for the surprisingly well-received Crossy Road. This time, the player takes control of a character in a flying machine – at the beginning, you’re a cat in a monoplane – and shoots down enemies (including arcade cabinets, giant mouths, huge beavers, computer monitors and such) approaching from the opposite direction as long as he can. Shooty Skies is discerned by its interesting controls. The plane fires automatically, but to move it, we need to swipe our finger. Releasing the finger launches a powerful rocket attack – useful when fighting more powerful opponents – which sadly exposes us to enemy fire, which adds certain tactical depth to this small arcade game. During our run, we encounter various upgrades and items spawning allied wingmen. Shooty Skies is also distinguished by its colorful visuals, build from huge voxels.
