An action-adventure game featuring RPG elements, set in a fantasy world. It is the second installment (to be released for Wii) in the iconic Nintendo series, The Legend of Zelda. The player assumes the role of Link, who one day finds the eponymous item: a powerful, enchanted weapon with a spirit contained within. When it turns out there is a land beneath the surface of the world he is familiar with, the protagonist sets out on a dangerous journey to discover the reasons as to why both worlds were separated. Moreover, the unknown land is taken over by evil that has to be dealt with. In the game, Link can fight his enemies using several weapons (sword plus shield, bow, slingshot, bombs) and a few special accessories, such as a spy-beetle, or a whip used in puzzle solving. The game stands out with its comprehensive controls, designed for Nunchuck and Wii Remote supported by a MotionPlus device, providing vast possibilities.

A jRPG developed by Monolith Software, studio led by Tetsuya Takahashi. The game is an attempt to restore the high position of the genre established first by the best installments in the Final Fantasy series. The story is set in an original universe built from the bodies of two gods that once fought and eventually killed each other. While one of those bodies is inhabited by humans, the other one is populated by mechanical being preparing to launch an attack on the other party. The player is put in the shoes of Shulk, an 18-year-old orphan, whose home at Colony 9 is attacked by the machines. The game focuses on exploration, featuring vast locations as well as various enemies dealt with using a real-time combat system that offers a wide array of special attacks. One of the game's hallmarks is the attachment meter that indicates the status of relationships among the team members. This element was inspired by the first installment in the Dragon Age series.

An action RPG set in the Marvel Universe. Originally, the game was released back in 2006, but its remastered edition came out ten years later for PCs and eighth generation consoles. The plot focuses on the evil Doctor Doom, who once again tries to execute a plan of taking control over the world, this time by forming an organization of super-villains. When a help request is sent from the headquarters of a government agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., the greatest heroes arrive to remedy the situation, among them Captain America, Spider-Man, Thor, Blade, Wolverine, the Thing, and Ghost Rider. Before each level, the player gathers a team capable of completing the objective. Then, they begin to exterminate the enemies, and ending the level with a boss fight. The game offers an extensive combat system and the player makes use of various famous abilities of their chosen superheros. As the player progresses, they can upgrade the superheros' costumes in order for them to acquire different, useful combat abilities.

A sequel to the action RPG by Activision, set in the Marvelís superhero universe. The game was initially released in 2009 and then remastered with PC and the 8th-generation consoles in mind. The plot of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 starts when the S.H.I.E.L.D. comes across traces of dangerous criminal activity. Mysterious creatures equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and advanced technology stand up to a team of superheroes that consists of Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Daredevil, among others. The playerís task is to discover who is behind the entire scheme. Mechanics-wise, the production does not deviate significantly from the solutions of its predecessor. The most important novelty is the fusion system that allows two different superheroes to use one special power. The gameís plot can also develop non-linearly, depending on the choices made during dialogues.
