The 3DS release of the game’s remake features improved visuals with more polished character models and lighting effects that are much more pleasing to the eye.

The game uses the same formula and gameplay mechanics as other installments of the series.

The gameplay in Ambition of the Slimes focuses on turn-based battles that take place on a tactical map. The fights are strongly unusual due to the abilities of the slimes.
