Actually, browser games are part of the PC games category, but playing in a web browser make them so different that they deserve to be classified as an entirely separate kind of games. Most of the browser games are simple massive multiplayer online titles with poor graphics and many social options. However, there are exceptions to this rule.

RPG 2018

Darken Age: The Awakening of the Forgotten is a free-to-play browser MMORPG set in a fantasy world and developed by Polish studio Dark Workshop. The game takes place in a fantasy world of Acheron. Dark Workshop decided not to use your typical fantasy races and created their own original species. Story focuses on the invasion of an army of demons and mutants known as the Legion. Threatened by the evil forces, intelligent races of Acheron form an Alliance and send a special expedition to the source of evil, the island of Tamrel. We take the role of one of the members of that expedition. As in every proper MMORPG, we explore, fight, and do numerous quests. Our hero gets stronger and stronger as we play, gaining access to more powerful skills and equipment. Darken Age: The Awakening of the Forgotten also has an interesting crafting system that requires the players to cooperate. The game has optional microtransactions.

During the gameplay, we join the Resistance, a human army fighting a war against Legion, an army of darkness which managed to defeat the Angels, and now continues to lay waste to Earth. Before we begin our adventure, we need to create a hero, choosing one from three available classes (Berserker, Gunslinger, and Shadow Mage), each offering a different combat style. The players are left with a vast single player campaign, as well as cooperation mode, or a real-time, crossplatform PvP module. Adventure 14 November 2012

An unusual spin-off to the legendary Tomb Raider series. The game was developed by Crystal Dynamics - the creators of the franchise's latest installments. The game follows the adventures of a beautiful female archeologist and her friend - a Mayan warrior by the name of Totec. The characters set out for a journey, searching for a mysterious artifact known as Mirror of Smoke, which is to be used against the evil Xolotl, who has gained the power to control other spirits. Contrary to the third-person perspective the Tomb Raider games are usually played in, the spin-off is an isometric game resembling hack'n'slash titles in this aspect. The gameplay focuses on arcade elements and combat sequences, in which the player encounters hordes of ghosts - a special emphasis was placed on cooperation. The two characters have different abilities, therefore, close cooperation is the key to success. However, it is also worth mentioning that the game features elements which could be considered hallmarks of the Tomb Raider series as well, such as exploration of tombs and catacombs.
