The hero has a considerable range of weapons and magic skills at his disposal, and the key element is the proper selection, because too much unnecessary equipment negatively affects the protagonist's mobility and special abilities. The school is attended by children of both gentry and common citizens – the exception being the 7th grade comprising only the main protagonists of the game. The action of the game is set during one school year, in which the students increase their skills, acquire military experience, and overcome the differences that divide them. The background of the story is filled with ever-growing tension in the society that might result in an outbreak of civil war. The plot of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel features a non-linear structure and is shaped by the decisions made by the players. In comparison to the previous installments in the series, this game stands out with its multiple improvements, the most prominent being the TPP perspective, which has replaced the typical for the series top down perspective. Additionally, the game features more dialogues and a modified combat system. Once again, battles are turn-based, however, they are more dynamic because of the combo system enabling players to mount spectacular and powerful attack sequences. Moreover, the choices a player makes throughout the game affect the combat efficiency of particular characters.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II (PSV)
RPG 25 September 2014
A continuation to a jRPG bearing the same title; the game is part of a larger universe from the The Legend of Heroes series. Trails of Cold Steel II begins a month after the events depicted in the first installment. The civil war in Erebonia outbroke for good. Rean's goals are to find the remaining students from the Seventh Grade, as well as to put an end to the bloody conflict, which has torn the protagonist's native country apart. Although the experience is based on the gameplay formula of the previous installment, the creators decided to introduce a few changes. The so-called ''Tactical Link System'', which provided new combos and other tactical abilities used in conjunction with other characters with whom the protagonist has established relationships, appears in this game in the company of the new, ''Overdrive Mode'', which allows the linked team-members to incessantly perform attacks during even up to 3 turns in a row. Exploration was improved as well - the player traverses the extensive locations on foot, aboard a modifiable airship, on horseback, or by a motorcycle. Furthermore, the protagonist can recruit allies from among NPCs scattered throughout the game world. The game comes with decent-quality graphics inspired by anime cartoons.

Similarly to its predecessor, Nights of Azure 2 is a typical hack and slash with an arcade battle system and TPP view. As she gets more experience, Ashule will unlock more skills and get more powerful in the process. She can also be helped by female companions, and the more often she does that, the stronger bond she creates with them. This in turn lets her learn new powers or unlock news quests.
RPG 07 April 2015
An action RPG developed by Supergiant Games - a studio established by Amir Rao and Gavin Simon, who both are former employees of Electronic Arts. In the game, a player assumes the role of a hero named Kidd, who one day wakes up in his bed drifting amongst the remains of the world, in which he used to live before. The young lad embarks on a journey to find other survivors and provide them with shelter. The world of Bastion that is drifting through the void is not at all a safe place - it crawls with monsters that our hero has to face using an elaborate arsenal of both close combat and ranged weapons. Moreover, since particular locations literally are hanging in mid-air, a moment of distraction might result in Kidd falling off the map. The game described herein stands out from similar productions because of its method of delivering the story (the actions of the main protagonist are described in real time by a narrator) and the original visuals featuring colorful, hand painted, and highly interactive sceneries. Interestingly enough, in spite of the fairytale-like style of the game, Bastion tells a grim story about the apocalypse. The game has been recognized with many prestigious awards.

World of Final Fantasy (PSV)
RPG 25 October 2016
A spin-off to the popular jRPG series created by Square Enix. World of Final Fantasy was created with younger players in mind. The plot of the game takes place in Grimoire – a completely new world, but the characters and creatures from all previous installments of the series make an appearance. What’s interesting, Grimoire has been divided into two dimensions: in the first of them, the characters look normal, while in the second one they assume the sweet form of chibi. The main characters of the story are Rain and Lon, twins who fulfill their great destiny, experiencing various adventures. When it comes to mechanics, the title is similar to the previous entries in the series, including typical exploration segments and turn-based enemy encounters making use of the Active Time Battle system. Nevertheless, the whole gameplay has been somewhat simplified in order not to scare away the younger players. An interesting feature of the game are the taming mechanics, with animals acquired this way helping us during encounters.
