Iron Harvest (PS4)
An original strategy game with RPG elements, taking place in a unique dieselpunk universe of 1920+, created by a Polish concept artist Jakub Ró¿añski. The game portrays an alternative history of Europe at the turn of the 19th century, in which humanity used their knowledge and means to build powerful walking machines, used not only in battle but also e.g. in agriculture. Thus the gameplay features not only the cavalry, airplanes and prototype tanks, but also rather primitive and awkward mechs, seemingly not of this age. At the same time, the game is firmly grounded in Polish history and references important events such as the Battle of Warsaw.
Ancestors Legacy (PS4)
Ancestors Legacy is a complex real-time strategy game developed by the Polish independent studio Destructive Creations. The game takes place in Medieval times and its single player campaign is based on the actual historical events. We can play as one of the four available factions: Slavs, Germanic peoples, Vikings, and Anglo-Saxons. In terms of gameplay, Ancestors Legacy focuses on large-scale battles. Figuring out good tactics that includes the layout of the land and skillfully flanking our enemy are the key elements that will lead us to victory. In addition to open-field battles, we can also besiege our enemies' cities and villages. We will also have to pay some attention to the economic side of our conquest (i.e. gathering materials and resources, upgrading and improving our headquarters). What makes Ancestors Legacy stand out among the similar games is the low entry threshold – both newcomers and experienced players will feel like home when playing the game.

The player’s task, as the general of a “mushroom” army, is to eliminate the enemy as quickly as possible by taking over strategic points on the map. There are four different races to choose from, all supported by heroes with unique special abilities. As befits a real-time strategy game, we have to build a village, recruit an army, enhance our weapons, and take over enemy buildings. Battles are very fast-paced and usually last no longer than 5-10 minutes. The title offers four single player campaigns, a skirmish mode, and a multiplayer mode that supports e-sport features. Mushroom Wars 2 features graphics that are similar, although more detailed, to its predecessors.

To achieve this, he asks a group of five specialists who deal in murder, sabotage, and espionage. It is the team that the player will lead in the course of the campaign that consists of over a dozen extensive missions. In Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, the action is presented from a camera placed high above the characters’ heads which provides us with a good grasp of the environment and lets us efficiently issue orders to our agents. Since they perform risky tasks on enemy territory, it is necessary to stay out of guards’ sight and act stealthily. Maps were designed in a way that allows for any mission to be completed in various ways. To succeed, the player always has to cunningly use the unique skills of every character and devise plans that involve strict cooperation within the party.

The participants make their moves in turns and their actions are limited by a time limit. The game refers to the initial two-dimensional installments of the series, which means that battles are presented from the classical side view. The title does not lack for several enriching novelties, though. These include the possibility to hide inside buildings and to use vehicles that allow us to traverse the battlefield and deal damage to the enemy. Visually, the production features the characteristic cartoonish visual style, although the worms’ appearance and animation were refreshed.

When it comes to technical aspects, the game uses the 3D engine known from the studio's previous productions.
Dungeons II (PS4)
Strategy 24 May 2016
A continuation of the original strategy game from 2011, inspired by the Bullfrog's cult classic Dungeon Keeper. In this production from Realmforge, we once again assume the role of a dark lord who rules underground dungeons. This time, however, his ambitions go much further. Apart from defending his realm, his goal is also to attack human settlements and castles that can be found on the surface. Therefore, the gameplay of Dungeons 2 takes place on two levels. The economic part focuses around raw materials acquisition, dungeon development, researching new technologies, and training monsters. Once the player emerges on the surface, the game turns into a classic RTS, in which we lead an army of horrific creatures to plunder and wreak havoc in human settlements. The game is characterized by a rather humorous approach, making fun of numerous, hackneyed patterns of the fantasy genre. In addition to the typical single-player campaign, the game also features a multiplayer mode for up to 4 people.

They are so effective that they can even affect the strategic layer and destroy our global operations. XCOM 2: War of the Chosen introduces three rebel factions (Reapers, Skirmishers, and Templars), with which we must keep good relationships if we hope to gain their assistance. Aliens also received reinforcements, with three more deadly species in their ranks. Additionally, ruins of long gone metropolises are inhabited by the Lost, consisting of mutated humans who hate both us and ADVENT. Thanks to this expansion, the campaign has been expanded with new locations and objectives. There are also additional abilities for the soldier class and a newly introduced SITREP system, which randomizes some parts of missions to bring more variety to the game. The list of novelties is closed with a special challenge mode, in which the players engage in tasks given by creators themselves.

The game takes place on one of three three-dimensional levels such as Classic City, Amusement Park, or Haunted Town. Tooth and Tail (PS4)
Strategy 12 September 2017
An arcade real-time strategy game by Pocketwatch Games, featuring old-school pixel art visuals. The action of Tooth and Tail takes place during an animal revolution, modeled to the conflicts of the turn of 19th and 20th century, where several factions comprised of different animal species fight to the death. Gameplay mechanics resemble classic RTS productions—their foundations lay in resource gathering, base building, and tactical combat. In the game, however, we can not issue direct orders to individual units. Instead, we assume control of their commander, who moves throughout the battlefield with a banner in his hand. His task is to designate places in which buildings will be built and show his subordinates their targets. Since we control just one character, the controls of Tooth and Tail resemble a typical action game rather than strategy, and most processes were adequately automated so that the player can focus on pure fun.

One of the novelties delivered by Tropico 6 is the fact that the action of the game no longer takes place on a single island - instead, the country is spread between multiple islands, all of which have to be managed by a player at the same time. These islands can be connected by bridges and tunnels. The game also features the agents, who can be dispatched to different corners of the world to - not entirely legally - obtain blueprints of certain structures, such as the Statue of Liberty and The Eiffel Tower. Moreover, the developers decided to allow players to modify the main palace and appear before the society. During a speech, a player can e.g. make populistic promises.

During the game we have to take care of raw materials supply, such as concrete or wood, and construct customer-fit houses which, when sold or rented, will give us a reasonable profit. A characteristic feature of the title is the possibility to take advantage of various not always lawful methods of undermining the competition. We can bribe protesting hippies, psychopaths, thieves, or saboteurs, and in the later stages of the game also cooperate with mafia. Instead, we control a group of civilians surprised by the outbreak of war and trying to survive in a besieged city. As the title suggests, the biggest novelty of the expanded edition is the introduction of playable children, who play an incredibly important role in the on-screen events.
