Iron Harvest (PS4)
An original strategy game with RPG elements, taking place in a unique dieselpunk universe of 1920+, created by a Polish concept artist Jakub Ró¿añski. The game portrays an alternative history of Europe at the turn of the 19th century, in which humanity used their knowledge and means to build powerful walking machines, used not only in battle but also e.g. in agriculture. Thus the gameplay features not only the cavalry, airplanes and prototype tanks, but also rather primitive and awkward mechs, seemingly not of this age. At the same time, the game is firmly grounded in Polish history and references important events such as the Battle of Warsaw.

Figuring out good tactics that includes the lay of the land and skillfully flanking our enemy are the key elements that will lead us to victory. In addition to open-field battles, we can also besiege our enemies' cities and villages. We will also have to pay some attention to the economic side of our conquest (i.e. gathering materials and resources, upgrading and improving our headquarters). What makes Ancestors stand out among the similar games is the low entry threshold – both newcomers and experienced players will feel like home when playing the game.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen introduces three rebel factions (Reapers, Skirmishers, and Templars), with which we must keep good relationships if we hope to gain their assistance. Aliens also received reinforcements, with three more deadly species in their ranks. Additionally, ruins of long gone metropolises are inhabited by the Lost, consisting of mutated humans who hate both us and ADVENT. Thanks to this expansion, the campaign has been expanded with new locations and objectives. There are also additional abilities for the soldier class and a newly introduced SITREP system, which randomizes some parts of missions to bring more variety to the game. The list of novelties is closed with a special challenge mode, in which the players engage in tasks given by creators themselves.
Worms W.M.D (PS4)
Strategy 23 August 2016
Another major installment in the bestselling turn-based strategy game series that focus on a humorous rivalry between the eponymous worms. In Worms WMD, the basic gameplay principles remain unchanged, and the players still have to eliminate the opposite team using a number of more or less unconventional weapons. The participants make their moves in turns and their actions are limited by a time limit. The game refers to the initial two-dimensional installments of the series, which means that battles are presented from the classical side view. The title does not lack for several enriching novelties, though. These include the possibility to hide inside buildings and to use vehicles that allow us to traverse the battlefield and deal damage to the enemy. Visually, the production features the characteristic cartoonish visual style, although the worms’ appearance and animation were refreshed.
Grand Ages: Medieval (PS4)

The game begins in the year 1050 and is set on a vast area comprised of Europe, North Africa, and Middle East. The player's main goal is to build a prosperous kingdom through the development of its infrastructure, resource accumulation, production of goods, and trade. What makes the task difficult, are various random events (earthquakes, droughts, or pestilences), as well as hostile nations. In order to protect your kingdom, you have to create a strong army, constituting a wide array of units: archers, infantry, and cavalry. When it comes to technical aspects, the game uses the 3D engine known from the studio's previous productions.
Tropico 6 (PS4)
One of the installments in the economy strategy game series started in 2001 - Tropico. The game has been developed by Limbic Entertainment - the creators of Might & Magic X: Legacy and Might & Magic: Heroes VII. In Tropico 6, a player assumes the role of El Presidente - the leader of a banana republic. The objective is to manage the country by developing the cities, providing the citizens with jobs, fixing the damage caused by various natural disasters, as well as issuing decrees that shape both domestic and foreign policies. One of the novelties delivered by Tropico 6 is the fact that the action of the game no longer takes place on a single island - instead, the country is spread between multiple islands, all of which have to be managed by a player at the same time. These islands can be connected by bridges and tunnels. The game also features the agents, who can be dispatched to different corners of the world to - not entirely legally - obtain blueprints of certain structures, such as the Statue of Liberty and The Eiffel Tower. Moreover, the developers decided to allow players to modify the main palace and appear before the society. During a speech, a player can e.g. make populistic promises.
CastleStorm VR (PS4)
Strategy 01 August 2017
A tower-defense strategy game with arcade elements developed exclusively for PlayStation VR. A player assumes the role of the steward protecting a stronghold domiciled by either Vikings or Knights. The main objective is to keep the stronghold safe and eliminate the enemy forces, or to besiege the enemy to either take or destroy his castle. The main weapon that one gets at his disposal is the ballistae placed on a high tower, which can be loaded with various kinds of ammunition – apart from standard arrows, there are apples, flails, grenades, guided eagles, and flying sheep. One can lead to battle diverse units that vary in terms of their speed, strength, and special abilities. Both the type and the strength of the available army depends on the castle’s level of development. Each map delivers several primary and optional objectives that provide a player with additional rewards. CastleStorm VR delivers a multiplayer experience comprising both competitive and cooperative modes – the latter one allows up to two players to fight off endless attack waves, for as long as possible.
A stylish game developed by Team Colorblind, an independent studio based in Phoenix, AZ. The game combines elements of two seemingly incompatible video game genres – turn-based strategy and brawler. The story is set 20 years before Spanish Conquistadors came to America, and a player is tasked with expanding the Aztec empire, collecting taxes, and handling diverse randomly generated events. As far the game builds on the turn-based strategy convention, a player might have to use force to punish citizens who do not pay their taxes or slaughter everyone infected during an epidemic when all other attempts to cure them have failed. What is worth mentioning, the game is based on broad historical knowledge resulting from developers’ passion, who implemented into the game over 30 Aztec cities and different types of Aztec warriors, all of which makes for a faithful representation of the authentic locations and factual units. Aztez features an original, monochromatic visuals brought to life only by the red color of the blood gushing all over player’s screen.

During the game we have to take care of raw materials supply, such as concrete or wood, and construct customer-fit houses which, when sold or rented, will give us a reasonable profit. A characteristic feature of the title is the possibility to take advantage of various not always lawful methods of undermining the competition. We can bribe protesting hippies, psychopaths, thieves, or saboteurs, and in the later stages of the game also cooperate with mafia. The main feature of the refreshed version of Constructor are its HD resolution graphics. Creators decided not to interfere with the classic gameplay mechanics, keeping also the large dose of humor that traditionally accompanies our struggle.

Tooth and Tail (PS4)
Strategy 12 September 2017
An arcade real-time strategy game by Pocketwatch Games, featuring old-school pixel art visuals. The action of Tooth and Tail takes place during an animal revolution, modeled to the conflicts of the turn of 19th and 20th century, where several factions comprised of different animal species fight to the death. Gameplay mechanics resemble classic RTS productions—their foundations lay in resource gathering, base building, and tactical combat. In the game, however, we can not issue direct orders to individual units. Instead, we assume control of their commander, who moves throughout the battlefield with a banner in his hand. His task is to designate places in which buildings will be built and show his subordinates their targets. Since we control just one character, the controls of Tooth and Tail resemble a typical action game rather than strategy, and most processes were adequately automated so that the player can focus on pure fun.
Battlestar Galactica Deadlock (PS4)
Strategy December 2017
A space strategy set in a popular universe created in a 1978's TV series. Developed by Black Lab Games, Battlestar Galactica Deadlock gives an opportunity to assume control over the Colonial Fleet and to take part in a war against the Cylons - a race of human-made cybernetic machines that have rebelled against their creators. The game features both completely new characters and figures the fans of the universe are surely familiar with - however, the story was executed in a way that will not confuse those new to the universe. The player takes part in tactical battles set in a three-dimensional environment. Furthermore, the player recruits officers, conducts political actions within the Cyrannus planetary system, but also extends their fleet alongside progression, based on the unlocked spaceship designs. Apart from the single-player component, the game offers a complex multiplayer mode which allows the player to fight 1 vs 1 duels against commanders from all over the world. All of this is complemented by decent-quality visuals.
Dungeons II (PS4)
Strategy 24 May 2016
A continuation of the original strategy game from 2011, inspired by the Bullfrog's cult classic Dungeon Keeper. In this production from Realmforge, we once again assume the role of a dark lord who rules underground dungeons. This time, however, his ambitions go much further. Apart from defending his realm, his goal is also to attack human settlements and castles that can be found on the surface. Therefore, the gameplay of Dungeons 2 takes place on two levels. The economic part focuses around raw materials acquisition, dungeon development, researching new technologies, and training monsters. Once the player emerges on the surface, the game turns into a classic RTS, in which we lead an army of horrific creatures to plunder and wreak havoc in human settlements. The game is characterized by a rather humorous approach, making fun of numerous, hackneyed patterns of the fantasy genre. In addition to the typical single-player campaign, the game also features a multiplayer mode for up to 4 people.
Surviving Mars (PS4)
A science fiction economic strategy developed by Haemimont Games and published by Paradox Interactive. The title is a city builder in which the player must design the first human settlement on Mars. Being a manager of a space colony requires the player to take care of many matters - the survival and well care of colony inhabitants depends on it. The colonists won’t survive for long without any access to oxygen and water and the advanced technology of the colony requires regular energy shipments. What makes things even harder is the fact that the systems constructed by the player can be broken by environmental conditions: the water tanks can freeze and the sun accumulators can be deactivated by a sandstorm. In addition to that, the agency that sponsored the whole mission has specific requirements – if the player had chosen a profit-driven corporation as a sponsor, then he must remember to create a mine for valuable resources and a system that will transport these resources to Earth. Each inhabitant of the colony is a unique character with specific traits and parameters impacted by his living conditions. A happy colonist can decide to have children while a constantly stressed worker will grow psychical traumas. The title is a sandbox which is partially unpredictable due to the mysteries – events and scenarios inspired by classic science fiction tropes.
