Star Control Origins is a space sandbox developed by Stardock Entertainment. The player assumes the role of a captain of a space ship and he or she explores a dynamically changing galaxy. Similarly as in the original game, in the new title the player assumes the role of a king who travels through the world and uses his wealth to gain new subjects and expand his domain. As the game progresses, the king gains access to new craftsmen as well as production and military buildings.

The player takes control of a team composed of five unique characters who are preparing to face the most powerful vampire in the world – Count Necrosis. Before they do that, they have to battle armies of creatures from hell on various arenas. Gameplay consists of fending off waves of enemies coming at you along predefined routes.
