Senko no Ronde 2 (PS4)
Action 07 September 2017
The second installment in the series of games that combine dynamic brawler and shooter mechanics. The franchise originates from Japan, where it started its life in arcades in 2004. Senko no Ronde 2, on the other hand, was designed for the leading stationary platforms. The game takes you far into the future, where mankind managed to colonize distant galaxies, but has soon split into warring factions. The player takes part in the war for domination in space and commands a flying battle mech. There are several types of machines at your disposal, which differ in appearance, combat moves and special attacks as well as overall statistics. The core of gameplay is about aerial battles against other mechs, in which you must prove your agility and reflexes. In combat you must also make use of power-ups scattered around the battlefield, which may sway the odds in your favor. Senko no Ronde 2 sports neat graphics and distinctive anime-like stylistics.
Super ComboMan: Smash Edition (PS4)
Arcade 22 August 2017
An independent, arcade game which is an improved version of 2014's Super ComboMan; similar to that original edition, it was developed by Interabang Entertainment - a company located in San Francisco and founded by a few friends that had met during their studies. The game mingles elements of 2D fighting titles and platformers together, offering much of what can be remembered from the period when arcade game rooms enjoyed their popularity - the gameplay formula present is relatively simplistic and the player is required to be quite dexterous. Simultaneously however, Arrow Heads draws inspiration from modern-day games, so the player will also find here numerous abilities and special attacks to be unlocked, as well as a collection of stickers to be found. Super ComboMan: Smash Edition offers exclusively a single-player experience. The player's attention will be drawn especially by colorful, hand-drawn visuals with an art style inspired by manga comic books.
