Ironcast is set in an alternative version of the Victorian England, and the country has been at war with France for a decade. When the French are beginning to gain the upper hand in the conflict, a private association is founded in order to produce cutting-edge combat mechs.

During the game, we assume the role of a manager of a railway with a goal to expand and upgrade the infrastructure; aside from the above, we need to continuously watch the already existing railways and intervene during emergencies, all in the name of being able to match the increasing demand for transport services.
