A cyberpunk first-person perspective action RPG developed by Ion Storm, studio led by the legend of the video game industry, Warren Spector – co-creator of such cult series as Ultima and Wing Commander. Deus Ex takes place in the middle of XXI century, in a world filled with terrorism, corruption, poverty and a mysterious disease called the Gray Death. The player assumes the role of agent JC Denton and discovers that a secret organization named Majestic 12, which eventually intends to rule the world, is responsible for the deadly virus. The gameplay mechanics of the game combine FPS, stealth and RPG features. Thanks to special nanotechnological augmentations the protagonist has inhuman abilities that can be gradually improved as the game progresses. Denton can use various weapons which can be also modified. The story of the game is non-linear, and depending on the choices made by the player it might led to one of three alternative endings.

Another installment in the bestselling jRPG series which has been in development since the mid-80s. It is the first game in the franchise to be available for PlayStation 2. Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is set in a well-known fantasy universe. The player controls a party of adventurers who have to stop the evil Dhoulmagus and remove the curse he placed on the king and his daughter. As we progress, the protagonists gain new abilities and items and become stronger. In combat, played in a turn-based system, they use not only typical medieval weaponry but also magic. They also encounter friendly NPCs with whom they can trade and talk. Visually, Dragon Quest VIII resembles Dark Cloud 2: it has three-dimensional graphics combined with cel shading rendering which gives them cartoonish looks. The characters' were designed by a famous mangaka, Akira Toriyama, known primarily for his work on the Dragon Ball franchise.

A hack-and-slash action RPG and a console spin-off to Fallout, the popular series by Interplay. The action of Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is set between the first and the second installment in the series, and the player’s task is to serve in the eponymous Brotherhood of Steel as it tries to contain the chaos spreading throughout the post-apocalyptic wastelands. In the game, we assume control of a team of mercenaries that traverse deserts, sunken villages, ruined cities, and abandoned military complexes to perform various tasks, facing hordes of enemies at the same time. The entire game is played in real time. In combat, we can also perform dodges and use long-rage weaponry. As befits an RPG, as we progress, the team members gain experience, develop their skills and make use of a wide variety of equipment as well as over 50 types of weapons.

The first installment in the tactical jRPG originally released on PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable. After a decade, an improved port has finally made its way to PC. In Disgaea PC you assume the role of a demon prince named Laharl, who having awakened from two-years’ sleep learns about the death of his father. As his successor, he decides to regain the throne and his subjects’ trust by setting out on a dangerous journey during which he will meet many allies and foes. The campaign is divided into episodes resembling a typical anime TV series. During the game you will spend most of the time fighting on tiled maps. You have a diversity of units under your command, offering different attack combinations, spells, combos, and special abilities that, just like in any classic RPG, can be further developed during the course of the game.
